Too bad they it isn't being shown in a nice luxury theater. AMC is the biggest crackerbox theater complex in the industry. Having been to two different ones in Kansas City, I wasn't impressed.

Want to see some nice theaters:

Now tell me that AMC can compare to this!!!

I'll be impressed when they start showing old-school favorites (Airplane!, Back to the Future) like AMC does. I go to the theater to see a movie on the big screen. If I want "luxury" I'll stay at home where I can make my own popcorn and sit in my pajamas. :p

The AMC Theaters in Central Florida are plenty luxurious enough - comfortable seats, top notch presentation, and best of all, reasonably priced with all sorts of discounts. I have no envy for Warren Theaters because, like Enigma said, they don't show old-school favorites like AMC. :P

If you want real crackerbox theater experience, check out a Regal Entertainment Group theater.

The Warren Theaters have a classic movie series that is done during the summer months. Last year we were privileged to see "Gone With The Wind", "Cat on A Hot Tin Roof", "Doctor Zhivago", "Heavy Metal", "The Wizard of Oz" and many, many more.

Sign up for their monthly newslwtter and you will also see we get the classics and special "Midnight" shows of movies like "Airplane", "Top Secret", "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (1951), "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid", etc.

And we have all the best prices you can find in any theater area in the country. We also don't show any type of commercial advertising before the movies, just three trailers, and then the feature film and all are shown, in THX and Digital Projection, when available. Our main theater has a screen that is 4 stories tall by almost 90 feet wide, and then we just opened our World Class IMAX Theater. And the snack bar prices are low compared to some of the theaters I have been to in Kansas City, Dallas, Texas, and California.

dvdjunkie: I'm not sure why you insist on pulling this thread off-topic just to plug a theater chain that only exists in Kansas and Oklahoma; most of the members won't be able to attend their handful of locations. I understand going off-topic a wee bit but this thread's supposed to be about Airplane playing at AMC, and most of the AMC's I've seen in Cali are pretty damn nice anyway. :p

I think he wants us to move to Kansas simply to watch a movie.

I'm content in Jersey. Plus, our AMC theatres aren't too bad either. And we've also got Showcase at the Ritz Center to fill our Warren Theatre void.

I don't know how I feel about that. Is it any easier than flying to Texas in order to pick up a DVD?

That was the birth of my WTF Signature Series! What a great trip down memory lane.

If dvdjunkie is willing to foot the bill, I'd totally check out Warren Theater. Otherwise, my only visits to Kansas will be via The Wizard of Oz.
