Maybe it's me, however I never see Disney include Tiana as a Disney Princess. Is it racist Disney at it again???Or just an "accident?"

I haven't seen them NOT include her in any line-up post PatF.

Eilonwy isn't included either! Disney must be 'reversed racist' as well!

TPatF just came out a year ago around this time. Tiana would only be featured in Princess products or advertising that's been done within the past year. It could be alot of Princess merchandise you've been seeing is out of date.
However I have noticed that when it comes to within the Disney Princess franchise itself: Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty seem to be most advertised.

I've been noticing Tiana all over the Disney princess merchandise lately . . although I
have been wondering where Rapunzel is.

Rapunzel is still selling her own merch. Once the warehouses are cleared out, she'll close up shop and sign the contract, which the other princesses have been offering for a year, but she refuses to sign on until she gets a 6-digit salary and an entire team devoted to her hair.

Oooh... let me get popcorn and milk buds ready!
But seriously, to say that Tiana isn't a Disney Princess is being silly. Like others have mentioned Tiana has been in a lot of recent Disney merchandise. Tiana is still an active character at the theme parks, even after her movie left theaters more than a year ago, a rarity in new characters.
Rapunzel, on the other hand, is still missing from the lineup, even though she is in actuality a princess and her movie is doing wonders at the box office. That should be the real question here.

I really wish Disney's first black princess wasn't such an unlikeable character... she's pretty on the Disney merchandise but I don't feel her movie is as quality as the others she is alongside.

We could split hairs forever about the "authentic" Disney princesses. Since they started out as "commoners", should we count Belle and Cinderella amongst the group? Pocahontas was technically regarded as a princess in her community.
Of the group, only Jasmine, Snow White and Aurora can lay true claim to the princess mantle. The others only married-in. Tiana adds a lovely new dimension to the Disney Princess line; and I say "the more the merrier".

I wanna know why Giselle always gets left out!

Not sure about the "animated" Giselle, but the character was so modeled after Amy Adams that Disney would have to continually pay royalties to use her likeness. That is, I understand, why Disney doesn't include Giselle in the regular princess line.

Tiana is now always used in the 'Official Princess Lineup'. In the Disney Store over here in the UK, it is her image, along with (Cinderella and Belle I think) that is used on the Disney Princess tags adorning all the Princess products.

Exclusive Target item where I work:
I don't know if they make different editions cause this one below features Jasmine instead of Mulan and slightly different outfits. I've seen both:

i dont understand why mulan gets included, as she doesnt even marry a prince. kiara is more a princess than mulan, even if she is a lioness.

I work at Toys'R'Us. Tiana is just as much present (maybe even more then some) down the Disney Princess aisle as any of the others. Repunzel is there too, but as was said, featured in her own merchandise. I suspect sometime in the next year, she will end up in the general princess merchandise too.

I think this whole Princess thing is taken a bit too seriously by people.
If it's fun, go right ahead. But I like the idea that any heroine or main character can be a Princess. Even Alice.
I mean, you could really off so many women from the list if qualifying comes down to such picky details.
And then, the same people who would disqualify someone like Eilonwy or Pocahontas kind of have to disqualify any woman
not born a Princess- like Cinderella (I'm right about this, right- she wasn't born a Princess in any of the main stories?)
or Belle. And people would hate to see Belle not considered a Princess. It might even make someone cry. Can't have that.

I do agree with what others have mentioned on here; its more of an issue if Rapunzel will be 'officially crowned' a Princess a la Tiana or not. As she doesnt even appear on the Disney Princess website as of yet, if I'm correct in thinking ?
Tiana is very much indeed part of the 'Princess Family' if there is such a thing. She is included just as much as the others, if not more. From the images posted, it seems as if Cinderella has suffered slightly in her ammount of exposure compared to Tiana. Rapunzel is gradually filtering through, just obviously she is more involved with her own products right now.
I think Tiana made the move into Princess products when TPATF was released onto DVD .... maybe Rapunzel will do the same ?
