What's yout opinion on slipcovers?
I used to LOVE them. LOVE. Couldn't stand to see a release without one. Then, as the years passed, most of them were just copies of the cover, not even shiny. And then, the biggest problem: damaged slips. It makes your collection looks like trash. Now I'm thinking of keeping all my slips in a folder, and leave my movies just with their cases...
So, what's your opinion about slipcovers? How do you keep them in your collection?

For my blu-rays, i'm pretty upset if they don't have a slip cover, the cases are delicate enough *coughfoxcough* They keep the delicate cheap cases from being scratched So even if they're just the cover, i'm ok. I actually separate the slip covered and non as if ones without should be ashamed Then for my DVDs, I don't buy DVDs any more unless they're not on blu, so I don't care much about their slip covers, but my old ones I try to take care of or find lost ones, at one point I hated them and threw Little Mermaid's away, then years later missed it, found it in my moms trunk and use the poor bent beat up thing Still looking for Beauty and the Beast and Peter Pan's, recently found Jungle Books. Man I use to be careless

Anyway, I prefer slip covers, flashy and new or not, as long as they protect my case

Oh no....I think Santa Scaps who right now is in NJ just passed out after havinga nervous breakdown from seeing this thread....Can we get Springheeljack or CJ to telpathically revive him from seeing a thread about slipcovers.....or how about that Flanger Hanger or Wonderlicious..anyone??

Slip covers are ok, but I don't worry if I buy a movie and it doesn't have one.

The only negative thing about them is it adds an extra step when buying movies because I check to make sure the one I get is in good shape.

Although lately its getting tough to find a good slip cover in stores like Target/Wal-Mart because of their security cases. For example all of the copies of Sorcerers Apprentice Blu-rays slips were wrinkled up because of the plastic cases they used at Target. I've also noticed that both stores are starting to just put the Blu-rays in the cases without the slip covers at all. If you go in on release day you tend to find a slip, but if you go later in the week or a few weeks later they are gone. I guess some of the employees that are stocking the movies throw them away because they don't fit... I don't know.

If they're there, cool. If not, whatever. The only time I REALLY like having one is if it's different from the actual cover art, i.e. "The Dark Knight" on Blu-ray.

I couldn't possibly care less.

I guess I would prefer my DVD's not to come with slip covers. Unless that means that if they do, the case won't have those stupid snaps on the side or the tape won't leave that strip of runny glue-scratch. That's what I really care about.

It's awesome! But I Love slipcovers like sleeping beauty's blu rays one, those one are the best

I think Blu-ray cases themselves are ugly and junky looking so I strongly prefer having slip-covers for those.

I used to love slipcovers. I remember when I got the Beauty and the Beast Platinum, I would just pull it out to marvel at that wonderful "open-like-a-book" slipcover, but since then, Disney seems to be going cheaper in their production of slipcovers, no more "open-like-a-book"-ness, and the material it's made of seems thinner. Also, as a whole, the covers just aren't as appealing any more. Too busy, too cartoonish, too glittery, too embossed.

Truthfully, though, I haven't turned my backed entirely on slipcovers. To me, a slipcover is a necessary part of the packaging if the DVD/BD came with one originally, which is why I don't throw mine out.
