Fran Drescher is returning to television to host a new daytime talk show on November 26, 2010. :D Some of you may know her from her 1990s hit comedy series The Nanny.

I still like her but... a talkshow host? It'll never work out.

What kind of niche would she possibly serve? And she'd have to do that, because people don't really want another "general talk" kind of celebrity doing interviews and such.

I loved her in The Nanny, but I don't really know if she'll be the best host of a talk show. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

I hope Gilbert Gottfried doesn't get on this talk show...this show itself when Fran laughs could be the voice that kills my hearing for good...

Yes!

Okay, so this show might end up sucking but I've been wanting a new Fran fix for ages now. This news is great!

But a talk show; she might try to focus more on the guests and less on herself. And then what happens if her guests aren't good enough- will people stop tuning in?

I wish this would be a hit. I'd love to see people like Lady Gaga on her show. I'd die! But there doesn't seem to be any life for talk shows that don't score big-name, top trend, hot-list guests.

I do hope this manages to succeed. I've always been fond of Fran Drescher. There's definitely a balance hosts have to have for a talkshow though, so I'm skeptical. Just hope she doesn't go the way of Megan Mullally.

Overall, the odds don't look in her favor, but I'm hoping for the best. :)

(Also, the jokes about her and Roseanne Barr's voices are greatly exaggerated. Seriously.)

Ooooooooooooooooooooooh I love her!!!!
She was so awesome in The Nanny and other movies, love to see her as a TV host for a show!
I think she'll do great....
But I'll have to wait a few years before they'll broadcast it here in Belgium ( I hope)

I hope that she learned not to talk through her nose. That irritated me on "The Nanny".

What can she bring to a talk show that no one else has done previously? I'll give it a look-see, and if she doesn't spike my interest within the first week, then I will watch something else.

Again, I hope she doesn't have that God-awful laugh, and doesn't speak through her nose!!! That nasal-twang makes me itch all over.

Her real accent is something between the trademark "annoying" nasal thing and her deep-throated sensual voice that she pulls out occasionally, usually as a joke. She doesn't use the latter very often because to do it, she has to talk too slowly. Makes her sound like she's insulting the person she's talking to.

I still predict a Megan Mullally type fall. Only, I'm not sure she'll even get that far with this. She's very dedicated and doesn't do anything half-assed, so for her to even announce this- she must really think there's a chance it could work. But this seems like a mighty big risk. If it doesn't work out, a lot of people will say The Nanny's success was a fluke instead of a truly quality piece of television.

Well, I was looking up news on this, and apparently (according to Wikipedia), the show did rather well in ratings during the three-week trial period (which I guess ended last week), so it shouldn't be too long until we hear word if this is coming nationwide.

In the meantime, if the talk show falls through, I just read about this, which, if it's picked up, sounds like it would be as good as anything to revitalize Fran's career.
