I haven't gotten any of the Diamond Edition combos yet as I'm still with DVD equipment, but I was wondering, what case do you prefer?

With a lot of the DVD cases being Eco boxes these days, I think I'd go with the Blu-Ray case.

New format = new case for me. They are also smaller and take up less space.

Well, I don't have any blu-rays, (other than the Diamond Editions) so I find that the DVD case fits in better with my collection.

Personally, I prefer the Blu-ray case. It depends on what you want really. I want my Blu-rays to be differentiated from my DVDs since it's a new format. Others prefer the DVD case because they like symmetry and conformity in their collection and they don't want to divide their collection between Blu-rays and DVDs.

I'm preferring the Blu-ray cases myself since they're more compact and I definitely have a limited space issue.

I vote for Blu-ray case. What's the point in buying a Blu-ray if it's not in its proper case.

I also find the DVD case misleading. I think people purchase it with the intention of getting a DVD set with DVD bonus features, only to be let down by getting just the movie on DVD. I think it's a stupid marketing move by Disney - they should just stick with the Blu-Ray case.

Blu-ray case for me too! At first I wasn't sure, but once I got The Princess and the Frog and saw how cool and compact the cases were, I was sold. So far I only have the Disney Animated Classics on Blu, so they have there own special section on my shelf lol

I'm wondering if more people adopt the Blu-ray format and it becomes more common place, will Disney continue with releasing these titles with case options?

I agree. It is really stupid when the set is mostly Blu Ray stuff...ergo the Blu Ray case distinguishes with movies are Blu Rays with all the Blu Ray goodies, that's how I sort out my collection at least.

Oh, damn. I accidentally bought my Beauty and the Beast Blu-Ray in a DVD-sized box. So annoyed right now.

But, yeah, I would recommend the Blu-Ray case. I actually like cases smaller.

Definitely the Blu-ray case. Not only does it save room, but it differentiates the formats which is good for organization (which is good for me because I love having my things organized). The DVD cases seem like a waste to me. It makes people confused and it's just another way for Disney to squeeze money out of it's products.

I don't really have a problem with either type of case. In fact, I was going to purchase BATB in the DVD case but since the BD was slightly cheaper, I went with that one.

Oh lord, Blu-Ray cases are UGLY! I always get the DVD cased sets.

I prefer the blu cases. They're small and compact, and Blue's my favorite color!

But I agree that the border doesnt always work.

Even though I do have limited shelving space, it really doesn't make that much more room on my shelf, especially since the only blu-rays I buy are the Diamond Editions. When I eventually upgrade everything on blu-ray (which will not be for a while), I'll just wait for the next 'line' they do to get the blu-ray cases. But since I have no blu-rays, things just look nicer if they're all the same size.

I always get the Blu-ray case so it fits in with my Blu-ray collection.

Blu-Ray case for me also. For me it is like a blu-ray with the DVD disc as a bonus so I want it in the blu-ray case for that reason. Also because I like to see which of my movies are Blu-Ray/DVD and the case type helps me do that easily.

I'm the same way. To me these are the same as other Blu-ray combo packs that other studios are releasing, so I want them in a Blu-ray case to match.

One odd thing that I noticed at Best Buy this week was how many Blu-ray case versions they had compared to the DVD ones. They only had about 10 of the DVD case versions up front in the display. The rest of the stock was the Blu-ray case. Not sure how it is with other stores. Maybe the DVD case will be harder to find later?

It was the opposite for me! On release day I went to Walmart to discover that they had no Blu-ray case copies, and a TON of DVD case copies. Better yet, the sales people didn't even know there were two different cases and told me to buy the DVD because "what's the difference?"

I found the spot where the Blu cases SHOULD have been, and it looks like they had started the day with maybe...12 copies? Really? I wanted to ask if they could check to see if there was Blu cases in the back, but since they didn't even know that it came in a Blu case in addition to the DVD, I just left and went to Toys R Us, where they had plenty of both.
