I don't think that this is a bad idea, actually, except for the issue of the technology catching up...when people can watch the movies in 3D at home, would they pay to see them in the theater, too?

Yes. Yes they would.

I'd go check them out but it'll be more for the experience of seeing the original trilogy in theaters than for the 3-D. I missed out on the 1997 Special Editions in theaters and was really disappointed about that. I probably won't go see the prequels since I've already seen all three theatrically, but I'll definitely be seeing the originals. The 3-D is just a nice added bonus for me.

So 1 film per year?
Not excited to see them in 3D (I hope there is also a non-3D showing), but I may have to go see the Original Trilogy one more time in the theater.

Since I only ever saw ROTS in theaters, all of them for me.

I'll definitely see them. The 3D is kind of a cool bonus. But anytime you can see the original trilogy on the big screen is a treat.
I don't really care to have 3D at home until they can do it without glasses. I tried out Sony's in Vegas last week and it wasn't that great.

I don't really care about the 3D, to be honest I'd watch these movies in theaters again even without the 3D
But I won't mind seeing them in 3D either haha.

Not really excited about this. I still don't have any of these films on DVD. WHY? Because years ago Lucas said he would alter Episode One to give us a digital Yoda. I know, that seems silly, but I've been waiting to get said update on DVD. Now I hear it will happen for Blu Ray. I hope a new set of DVD's will be coming to, but I'm not holding my breathe.
How about, instead of this, we get Episodes 7, 8 and 9 instead?
