What I have learned about the UD/DVDizzy forum members

by CJ
In an effort to regain a little bit of my sanity, and to remind myself why I love coming to forums, I have created this thread. I started thinking last night about why I continue to visit the forums, and then it hit me, it's the people. Plain and simple, the people are the heart and soul of the forums. Sometimes we get on each other's nerves, but overall everyone gets along pretty well. With that said, here are some of the things I have learned about the people at UD over the years:

ZOOMBOOM0688- has an awesome birthday (same day as me).

Escapay- is secretly collecting slipcovers for a massive bonfire.

Kram Nebuer- has a brother who joined the forums just to annoy him.

Dvdjunkie- is an attentive grandfather who spends lots of quality time with his grandkids.

blackcauldron85- is possibly the nicest person on the planet.

PrincePhillipFan- and his family put up a spectacular Halloween display every year.

AwallaceUNC- is a big Amy Grant fan, and has <STRIKE>stalked</STRIKE> met her many times.

Loomis- loves cheese and hates wearing pants.

2099net- loves snickers candy bars. evidence here

Siren- will adopt any animal that wonders up to her doorstep.

DaveWadding- has an excellent taste in music.

enigmawing- is a great artist.

Matt- once had another identity here.

Lee- has never said a word good or bad on the forum.

Luke- has the patience of a saint.

I could have kept going with more people, but I figure 15 is a good number to start with for now. I will probably post some more later. I'm interested in what some of the rest of you have learned about your fellow forum members too, so post away. You can cover the same people or different people, whatever you want, I just ask that no one posts anything negative. Keep it light and fun, please. :)

Nice initiative, CJ! We could use a thread like this. (And I must confess I'm partly to blame for that.) And you're right: it's the people that makes this place fun to hang out.
CJ wrote:blackcauldron85- is possibly the nicest person on the planet.

DaveWadding- has an excellent taste in music.

enigmawing- is a great artist.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I wholeheartedly agree!

jpanimation- has an excellent taste in movies

Super Aurora- is the most politically incorrect person I've ever met (but in a fun way); and he's impatient when it comes to pm's

Escapay- is the forum's walking archive

Disney Duster- can read Walt Disney's mind ;)

Margos- is incredibly patient with people who trash her favorite films

by Escapay
I agree, this is a great idea for a thread! And it does show just how well we get to know each other. Even when the forum has lulls and I take annual breaks (that nobody should know about but everyone does :/), I still find myself coming back to it simply because the community is fun.

Anyways, here's some more, though a few are related to things on Facebook that not all UDers may get. Oh well. :P

2099net - felt like a cult leader who gained another convert when I posted that I started watching "Doctor Who" in September 2006.

AlwaysOAR - collects Disney pressbooks with disneyfella in order to debunk the unknown ratio status of many live-action Disney films.

CJ - is my partner in crime and dislikes what the C in CJ really stands for (out of respect for her, I will not say what it is).

disneyboy200022 - met Roy E. Disney and likes to use ellipses (...)

Disney Duster - is still working on that long Cinderella analysis. Somewhere in the 130-page range, IIRC.

Disney Villain - lives an amazing life. (and now I have to take a shot)

disneyfella - wears an awesome hat in his Facebook profile picture.

Disneykid - loves all things Alice in Wonderland and was grateful to not get slapped by me this weekend.

Dottie - lives in Germany and likes "Pushing Daisies".

enigmawing - doesn't mind that I still semi-refer to her old UD name when I call her Sunny Wing.

Goliath - isn't afraid to tell someone what he thinks.

JiminyCrick91 - hates when people call him Sky-Sky.

Julian Carter - probably the only UDer from Malta. He doesn't recommend visiting to see the sets used in Popeye as they aren't much to look at.

Lazario - sticks to his opinions like white on rice.

Loomis - is obsessed with redheads, cheese, and pantslessness.

Matt - loves Beauty and the Beast more than Don Hahn does.

merlinjones - will never refer to the Walt Disney Company by name.

pap64 - absolutely loves Singin' in the Rain and unfortunately has never been to a Disney theme park. Rocks at WEDnesday Show Idol.

pinkrenata - is considered a Fairy-Hater/Princess-Hater by WDWLocal despite writing perhaps the most hilarious review ever for UD (Disney Princess Enchanted Tales, Volume One).

PixarFan2006 - was my most recent Secret Santa.

PrincePhillipFan - likes all things Greek Mythology and has a Greek-Mythology-inspired play that will be published/performed. Doesn't mind that I call him Howard.

reyquila - is buying.

Rudy Matt - wants Beauty and the Beast on Blu-Ray for the Laugh-O-Gram shorts rather than the movie.

slave2moonlight - always has women on his mind and is in love with Hilary Duff.

SpringHeelJack - knows more about Broadway than you ever will.

Widdi - would've given me a wedgie in high school because I was a Trekkie.

xxhplinkxx - hates that I sometimes leave him out of these things, like when I once posted in the "What UD Members Would Never Say" and forgot to include him. So I'm including him!

If you guys don't mind my honesty for a bit (and deeply sorry for the slight derailment), don't turn this thread into another "subtle attack" thread. I admit that one of the things that bothered me about the "What would UD members never say" is that some people were indirectly insulting other members. Guys, member issues are bound to happen. Egos will clash, people will hate each other, typical forum affair. However, if you really want to confront a person do it via e-mail, PM, AIM, Skype, Facebook, VSH, Blu-Ray, Disney DVD, ANY METHOD except this thread.

Sorry for being preachy, but I think this thread is a wonderful idea and will give us an idea of what we think of each other without diving into negative connotations.

In other words...if you can't say anything nice about someone, don't say anything at all :D .

That said, here are my thoughts:
PrincePhilipFan: Extremely romantic, has a great taste in fairy tale men and is the biggest Haunted Mansion fan I have ever seen.

Disney Duster: Lives with a passion for Disney and life that for some it may be extreme but still a fascinating person to be with.

Enigmawing: An incredible artist with great talent for drawing the female anatomy, and someone who has finally found happiness.

Super Aurora: Very irreverent, silly, and just plain out there, but underneath the snark there are a lot of smarts and a cool guy.

Disneykid: May be an even bigger fan of Alice than Lewis Carroll himself and an all around cool guy.

Escapay: Has the most amazing sense of humor I have ever seen in a guy, but is really a down to Earth, intelligent man.

Siren: The real definition of a mother. Strong with a sharp wit and never afraid to stand up for herself and others, but has an incredible sense of love towards all of God's creatures.

blackcauldron85: A Disney princess. Eccentric and a bit too loyal to Disney, but very lovable with a contagious personality.

KramNeuber: Brother to a great guy, very young and bubbly and a talented Disney baker.

Goliath: Agree or disagree with his thoughts he has tenacity and honesty, something to admire in a man.

jpanimation: Great taste in movies and a cool person to talk to.

dvdjunkie: Eccentric man who still enjoys life despite being in the winter of his years.

reyquila: Has the most amazing sense of dedication ever expressed by a Disney fan. Plus he's Puertorican, that is automatically a thumbs up :D .

Julian Carter: Perhaps the only person, man or woman, who thinks I am very cute, and a hopeless romantic.

slave2moonlight: A big guy with a heart of gold and a fun sense of humor.

Luke: Runs the site like it was the Matrix! :p

CJ: Very patient and quick to solve any problems in the forum.

disneyboy200022: His physical limitations have not stopped him from living life to the fullest, making his dreams come true...and impressing Ed Asner with his underwear :p .

ajmrowland: Very smart youth with a solid taste in movies and TV shows.

Lazario: Like Goliath, someone with a strong sense of honesty and tenacity towards his thoughts, and knows a lot about obscure movies.

Margos: Loves what is undeniably one of the most underrated movies of all time: Treasure Planet.

Sorry if I left anyone out.

slave2moonlight - has interesting taste in avatars. :)

Prudence - has great taste in women and a sophisticated personal style.

Avaitor - is a lot of fun to talk animation with.

Siren - takes great pictures (not just of animals). And has a great deal of passion for what she believes, which I appreciate though we've butt heads a couple times.

littlefuzzy - great admirer of the horror genre. Also, has a collossal DVD collection.

pap64 - has (had?) a great dedication to his blog, makes me wish I weren't so lazy.

blackcauldron85 - I like her dog stories.

Escapay - Forum Saint #1 in my book (and Amy / bc85 is #2 - but don't fret numbers because if you qualify as a Forum Saint, you are pure gold and you shine equally).

Disney Duster - really isn't happy with the Cinderella DVD color changes. And has pictures. :D

enigmawing - Great conversationalist. Keeps chat lively.

dvdjunkie - is a huge help in threads about horror and strange movies. I get a buzz when I see a reply by him.

2099net - is a great reference to get on British television. Also, takes my semi-crazy Blu-Ray rants with humor.

disneyboy200022 - very active online and has a great spirit (positive energy).

Flanger Hanger - picked a cool username (and now everytime I see that movie, I think of him).

Julian Carter - is honest. And strikes me as good-hearted.

Margos - bigger Lady Gaga fan than most people here, and won't mind me saying that. 8)

Goliath - has guts with his social and political opinions and doesn't hand out compliments unless he feels they are truly earned.

Memnv - doesn't come around much anymore. I think I miss him.

xxhplinkxx - is incredibly sharp and clever.

Loomis - loves Carpenter's The Fog more than I do. And gives good advice when he gives it to me.

merlinjones - inspires me. :D Image

Oops! I some how mixed the names on my list, littlefuzzy. Sorry about that, but you still have an awesome birthday. Let's see what did I have for you:

littlefuzzy- has an avatar that matches his name very well, and it is one of the few avatars that I can recall instantly.

And while I am here, a few more from the list I am working on:

Lazario- is very intuitive, he can pick up on the true nature of people pretty quick.

disneyboy200022-showed the world a strange hidden talent during an appearance on the "Tonight Show".

Julian Carter- often dreams of one day meeting some of the members of this forum.

slave2moonlight- has many female celebrity crushes. Every time one his crushes gets marries, a little piece of his heart breaks.

I learn that........:

Luke- Is an admin

CJ- is a mod

Goliath- is Jon Stewart, George Carlin, and Bob Dylan's love child.

Escapy-Is from NJ.....just like me. He also like to encouarge members to necro old threads. What a looney.

dvdjunkie- is old. VEERRRRYY OOOOLD. SO DAMN OLD.

Rudy Matt- bring in so much unintentional lulz like: Cars is an anti-liberal propaganda.

reyquila- would make Disney company bow down for his glorious wallet

Disney Duster-Most over romantic and fantasy delusional person I've met. He also has the ability be Walt's voice of 21st century. That's mind blowing. He apparently look like a hippie and/or Shaggy.

PrincePhillipfan- is walking encyclopedia on disney theme parks. I also learn that he's gay......just like I learned about from the 95% of all the other members on this forum.

Super Aurora- is pretty much the most awesome and greatest guy on this forum.

Loomis- gives the impression he wants to live in Hong Kong. what a communist.

Disneykid- is so much into Alice that some really ignorant and stupid person would think he's a pedo.

Blackcauldron85- is cute.

jpanimation- is a badass. Has well thought out posts and is enjoyable to read. Love animation and art of all kinds. Has broad range of knowledge over many things. This guy is awesome.

Lazario- is probably Goliath if he was gay.

2099net-...... I really don't know what I know about this guy

Siren- is borderline PETA. Not yet there though.

enigmawing - has a hard-on for Kim Possible. Don't blame her either for that.

Papa64- he's Puerto Rican. I wonder if he has a Macaw like all the other Puerto Ricans.

Waltmad & B.P.- die-hard christian trolls.

i'll update other when i feel like it.

I left out a few people on purpose (my list just kept looking too long and cluttered in one post). But not because they're any lesser, so they deserve to be recognized:

Disney's Divinity - is a great listener and is pretty good at reading people through text.

Dave Wadding - is a classic, in every sense of the word, but not at all ancient.

CJ - doesn't have much free time. (Some of these of course are things we've learned from conversations)

buffalobill - strikes me as very warm-hearted and supportive.

Super Aurora - cracks himself up :D.

PeterPanfan - is excitable, funny, and ambitious.

milojthatch - has a hard side but is usually (if surprisingly) easy to get along with. (At the very least, arguments with him are the most brief- brevity's an admirable quality)

Wonderlicious - really is so smart, he makes me jealous.

PrincePhillipFan - is narcoleptic. (And has probably my all-time favorite Disney-related avatar)

jpanimation - is usually the greatest asset to any debate, and is perhaps the most responsible person on UD with his serious opinions.

To Lazario: Yeah, I used to have a great dedication to my blog, mainly because life got a little busy and I couldn't find time to watch movies and review the. HOWEVER, I am planning a big Halloween return and will review classic horror movies for it.

To Aurora: First it's PAP, not PAPA. I am not a father nor a potato :p . Second, I used to own one, Jose Carioca, but he flew away to Brazil. I hear he's pretty happy. ;)

rotfl

I will say this, I've always respected Lazario for his ability to write incredibly well thought-out, intelligent posts. He has a way with words that's rarely seen. And even if I don't always agree with him, his posts are always interesting to read. It's only too bad that he sometimes sees 'hidden motives/agendas/attacks' when there are none. I hate to clash with him so often.

:D

And you, my boy, get a :pink: from me.

Anyway, here's some things I've learnt over the past few years on UD. Since some of you have already posted stuff here.

2099net is another token Brit besides me, and he got here first! :p

AwallaceUNC flaunts his first name, perhaps on a post by post basis.

blackcauldron85 will never seem to not read enough Internet articles on Disney.

Disneykid isn't just a fan of Alice in Wonderland, but Harry Potter, Pooh, Narnia and seeing things on the big screen that he never saw first time round.

Escapay loves a bit of :pink:, as well as a bit of :excellent: and :brick:

ichabod loves a bit of Home on the Range, and is visibly first to go into facepalm mode when around "Diz-nee princesses is kool and only good movies!" or "I hate this restoration" cliques.

Jack Skellington is as curious as the figure in his avatar.

Lazario has a striking opinion on everything, from horror films and Disney classics to ethical and social issues.

Loomis is perhaps the only person with an interest in Hong Kong Disneyland. :p

Marky_198 is very concerned with the colours and restorations of Disney films on DVD/Blu-Ray. Once he starts, he's like a runaway train.

pinkrenata wants to wear the lacy collar, as modelled by Bobby Driscoll. Escapay is hogging it, however.

PrincePhilipFan loves Sleeping Beauty almost as much as Disney Duster loves Cinderella.

Super Aurora is developing a comic book about alien races.

TheSequelOfDisney loves Glee, as well as English accents.

WDW Local is the uttermost Disney apologist, and hates the fact that Disneykid reviewed High School Musical and the latest Tink film.

Goliath-an intelligent individual who's not afraid to be constructively critical.

Disney Duster is a Medium. He regularly communicates with the dead and gives us their opinions.

Escapay is also a Medium, who cant seem to have had enough Milk Buds

Enigmawing is a wonderful artist who's happily engaged. For fun, she likes to take Escapay and sneak into DVD cover photoshoots.

BlackCauldron85 is probably the nicest person on the whole planet. not a single negative thing to say about anyone

AlwaysOAR collects pressbooks and bases all of his DVD purchases on centimeters rather than Actors, Directors, Awards, filmmakers' intent, or overall quality of the film.

Marky198 constantly feels the need to criticize proffessionals at their jobs.

Sorry if I left anyone out.

I have to say, despite being here for a good while...I know so very little about people. :(

Escapay - saving the world from waste, one slipcover at a time! :D

Reyquila - keeping Disney from bankruptcy for the past decade. :D

I can't seem to come up with anything for anyone else that hasn't already been said by others. :(

Now what makes you think I'm narcoleptic, Laz? :p

Mikey Duster – One of the sweetest people I know in person; though I have no idea what happens to him when he goes online

Scaps – Will one day start the largest sacrificial bonfire using slipcovers

Ames – Is pretty much impossible to make angry

Super Aurora – One of the few people who has simultaneously shocked me and made me laugh at the same time

Margos – one of the few bisexual girls I know and has an awesome avatar

Jack Skellington – loves James Dean

SpringHeelJack – I’m in total awe of his music collection

Flanger-Hanger – Has excellent taste in movies, musicals, guys, and pretty much everything else

PeterPanFan – likes more high school/ teenager shows than anyone else I know

Lazario & Goliath – almost extremely opposites in their opinions, yet I can imagine them being a comedy team like Laurel & Hardy or Abbott & Costello
