I will definitely purchase BATB and Fantasia. In fact, I've already pre-ordered the former.
I wouldn't mind getting either Prince of Persia or A Christmas Carol, but as of now, I don't have any plans to. Maybe after Christmas or sometime next year, but probably not soon. Actually, I'm planning to buy the three documentaries before those two.
And I don't have any interest in picking up SA.

You know what SA wasn't actually a bad movie...I was pretty impressed I went in expecting a horrible movie (The Last Airbender) and came out pleasantly surprised...
I'm taking a leap of faith with A Christmas Carol as I've never seen it before/

I don't think it will be a bad movie (not to say I think that it will be that great of a movie, either...), but I'm not a huge fan of Cage and I'm a little tired of Jerry Bruckheimer. Saying that, I'm still interested in PoP.

I'll really only have enough to get TS3, since I'm saving up for other things. I'll just rent the others (not interested in double-dipping).

I'm definitely getting Beauty and the Beast and Fantasia/2000. I'm looking forward to both because I don't have either on DVD, just VHS!

Beauty and the Beast, definitely, and probably Fantasia, but I'm not sure. Oh, and I'll be getting The Black Cauldron.

All of them!^^
A great fall for Disney Blu-ray's/DVD's! I am most excited for Prince of Persia, Beauty and the Beast and A Christmas Carol.
Will be getting Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Beauty and the Beast, A Christmas Carol, Toy Story 3, The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Fantasia/Fantasia 2000. (The Black Cauldron as well IF we get the release here in Norway.)

I'm just interested in getting The Black Cauldron, Beauty and the Beast, the Fantasia collection, and the 3 documentaries not listed (Walt & El Grupo, The Boys, and Waking Sleeping Beauty).
I'll likely rent Prince of Persia and A Christmas Carol, and I saw The Sorcerer's Apprentice in theatres so I'm not inclined to get it on the street date. If it's on sale next year or if I find it used, I'll get it then.

Definitely Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia Collection, A Christmas Carol, and probably Toy Story 3 (however, my least favorite of the 4 I just listed). I already got Black Cauldron, as it probably was what I was most excited for this entire year.
I know I won't be getting Sorcerer's Apprentice, but I'm still on the edge about Prince of Persia. I saw it in theatres and it was a decent movie. The prices are a bit high still, even with the 8 dollars coupon, though..
Really exciting fall for releases, though!

I'm just getting A Christmas Carol. I'm prefectly happy with the Platinum for BatB and the Fantasia Anthology, I don't really want to upgrade. I don't care about Sorceror's Apprentice of Prince of Persia.
A Christmas Carol, though... Man, I want it so bad it hurts! I haven't seen it in almost a year now! Why, oh why do we only sell Christmas movies at Christmas time!?
Oh well, at least that means it will be even
better when I actually see it! For some reason, waiting a long time between viewings of films makes me enjoy them more when I
do see them, even if I am less satisfied with the waiting. And I loved that movie a lot when I first saw it.... I can't wait to see it again!

Margos, since Belle is yo fav girl...and her film has yo fav castle...in fact is it yo fav flick?
Anyway, since it you love it so much, would you get the Blu-ray if it had the correct colors, or just closer to the original colors?
Also, the DVD image is compressed. I noticed it when I watched it and that was only once, and after I hadn't seen BatB in a long time. Doesn't the compressed look bother you? And the colors?

Which ones I'll be buying? Probably all the ones listed, plus:
Disneynature's Oceans
Disneynature's Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos
Toy Story 3
Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales
And maybe:
Have a Laugh Volumes 1 & 2
Walt and El Grupo
Waking Sleeping Beauty
The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story

Oh, and I forgot, I'll also be buying TS3 (probably in the boxset with the other two movies in the trilogy).

IDK, even though it doesn't look 100% perfect, I don't want to buy a DVD just for that.... Especially since the bonus features are so inferior. I would much prefer to just stick to my Platinum, I don't really see the point in double-dipping. I have the film and enjoy it in the version that I own (the only thing that really gets on my nerves is the stupid little angle-feature icon that my DVD player insists on displaying throughout the film.....)

Inferior? Inferior???
There will be a new making-of documentary, which replaces the old one but will likely have the same information repeated, and hopefully not suffer from too many interviewees but not enough time for each (not to mention it'll lose that tacky narration and the unnecessary 10 minutes at the end that are not about the film, but about everything else).
In addition, there's a new documentary all about the music of the film, and the possibility of original song demos as well. Given how important the music is to the film, and based on the preview clips posted earlier, it looks to be quite a great discussion about the music.
And depending on how you feel about the Broadway version, you'll get interviews with notable performers about the musical.
You'll also get the complete Purdum Reel, showing the non-musical treatment of the film. It was only glimpsed at (and just barely) in the Platinum. And there's an additional deleted scene if that floats your boat.
Plus, you'll get a majority of the extras from the platinum (commentary, 75 minutes of various featurettes/deleted scenes/animation footage/trailers), much more is carried over than when
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs returned to DVD.
The only worthwhile material from the Platinum that you lose is the old documentary and the galleries, and the latter is really the only major loss (and perhaps the only reason you should hold on to your Platinum but still get the Diamond).
And to top it all off, disc compression in 2010 is miles better than in 2002. So it'll look better than the old DVD. Hell, I might as well even throw in "COLORS! THE COLORS!" just because it's different.
And that's just the DVD. The Blu-Ray has a good couple hours of additional supplements!
And you consider the new set inferior?
Margos wrote:(the only thing that really gets on my nerves is the stupid little angle-feature icon that my DVD player insists on displaying throughout the film.....)
There should be a way to turn that off on your player (check the player set-up menus). The icon really is only supposed to show when you're watching a multi-angle feature that allows you to switch back and forth between the two video streams. It shouldn't be turned on for
Beauty and the Beast, even though multi-angle is used during the Work-In-Progress version.
