I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet!

Following the success of the Darkwing comics, Boom! Studios is coming up in December with an ongoing series for the Disney Afternoon show "Chip n'Dale Rescue Rangers" :

I must say, being a Talespin fan, that I'm very disappointed they've chosen RR over Talespin. (which is much more suited to adults IMO, which is their main audience) But I hope it will become a success too so that TS can be the chosen next one!

Sweet! I'm surprised they're doing R.R. before some of the other titles, but I love it anyway, so it's all good! I just wish I could find a job so I could catch up with these books. Even just buying the collections, I'm way behind. As they always do with comics, they are making too many of these Disney comics for me to be able to collect all the titles I want! Glad they are doing well though. I hope I'm able to find the Darkwing ones soon.

No talk about it yet? The first issue has been out for a few days now!!!

I received it, here's my review :

The art is incredible. I confirm what I said earlier : this is the BEST looking Disney comic I have ever seen in my whole life! (and Darkwing was already on a high level of quality, but this is even more awesome!)

As for the story, it sounds like the style of stories that works very well for Rescue Rangers. The characters personalities are very well respected, we get to know more about their pasts, the scenario of the first arc looks promising.

But the STORYTELLING is very different than from the show, due to all the "time jumps" that are very confusing on the first read. Rescue Rangers had very simple stories, I guess they did it this way to make it more interesting to the audience (which seems to be the 90's kids who are now adults)
I think this storytelling would have applied a lot better to TaleSpin which was more complex in nature on the story side than CDRR.

Anyway, can't wait for issue #2!! (and I'm not really a Rescue Rangers fan to start with!)

I thought it was issues 1-4, plus a subscription, which I actually paid for about a month ago.

Got it Monday, and I think it was great!

Okay, here's how I found out it came that day:

I got back from Due Date, which I was seeing with my Intro to Films class. After sitting down at my laptop to check on updates, I spotted a package on my bed.

It was a thin white package. I saw that it was to me, and I wasn't sure why. Then, I saw the sender's address was from Boom! Studios, which made me gasp in excitement. Hastily, I got the package open and found Issue #1 inside. I was so excited, I was shaking! :D

Oh, and the story was good, too! Can't wait for the next issue! :)
