Hi everyone

Some of you may know me from the forums, some of you may not ;) Anyway, I'm starting a website called "Disney Database". The reason I called it Disney Database is because my first guess was Disney Movie Database but www.dmdb.com was already taken and www.dmd.com was also taken.

This site will mainly have all kinds of information about the Disney movies (feauture AND sequel movies) and a lot more to come (but we'll start with the movies. This site will not be a DVD site like UltimateDisney, it will discuss the movies themself mostly and post all sorts of details about them.

I'm wondering if anyone is interested in joining me in creating this website. I have knowledge of Photoshop, some PHP and of course HTML. I don't need anyone specific, just any help would be great. I will always have positions open, the more people the better this site will be at it's opening! Just PM me if you are interested. I will pay for the domain and for the hosting, that's not anything you have to think about.

If you want more information, PM me or reply in this topic.

Thanks!

Jens

My skills as a web person are limited to very basic HTML, so I wouldn't be of any use to you skills wise.

However, I can write a good game, so if you need any help with articles or compiling some info for the database, I'm more than happy to lend a hand along the lines...

Yeah sure, that would be great Loomis! I'll send you more information when we actually begin to fill up the site with content ;) We first need the design and the database script done :)

I am not the bet with time currently, but I am quite fluent in HTML, JavaScript, and PHP. I'm not all the way there with PHP yet, but i'm getting there!

Layout wise - i'm not the best, but I do have experience.

Once again though, time is a killer these days.

Thanks for allt he replies guys :) We have some article writers now and maybe a scripter, but that's not sure yet. Anyway, what I am now looking for is another scripter and some designers that are experienced with Photoshop or any other graphics program. I'm now writing down the structure of the website (how it COULD be). So if anyone else is interested in these positions or other positions, reply or PM :)

Thanks!

Ok, I'm going to dig up this topic as I am now more advanced into the website's database and design. I'm creating the template pages and inputing content for 1 movie (which is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) so I know where I will have trouble finding content. I have come to the conclusion that I need some people from other countries to help me get the content for their dvds (international dvds will also be featured). If you are thinking this site is going to be competition towards UltimateDisney because all I'm talking about is dvd, well you are wrong. I'm now busy on creating the templates for the dvd pages, and as this site is going to be very detailed on the movies it will be a big part to the site but overall it will not be the most important part, only a big part ;). So, right now I have come to the conclusion that I need:

- Foreign people that can specify some detailed info on the dvds released in their countries.
OR
- People from any country that know a lot of info on the foreign dvds.

If you are interested, PM me or reply to this topic :) You can also add me on MSN Messenger if you have that ;) Msn address is jensie180@hotmail.com.

Thanks!

I don't know if I'll be your best bet, but I live down here in Okinawa, Japan. Disney is a big deal over here, so it's almost impossible to go any where without finding Disney merchandise. I can read and write Japanese, so I hope that I could help you with information on Japanese Disney DVD's?

Does Austalia count as foreign?
If so, I could help out in regards to "Aussie exclusives" etc.

Although, I might add.....
Luke's International page is quite groovy (I'm such a suck-up....).

Er, I know HTML, some dHTML, and CSS. So, I wouldn't be of much help to you. Sorry! I can't wait to see your site, though.

Personally, I think CSS is my favorite coding to use. It adds style to webpages! ;)

As stated before Jens, I would be interested in helping with the Norwegian releases :)

I know that we had diffrent oppinions about how the website should be but I would love to help you even though we do not agree on everything. :)

Yes I know, but I don't think putting all the international releases in their native language on the site is a good idea ;) It's supposed to be an english site, and since english is the most spoken language in the world (If I'm not mistaking) more people could enjoy the site ;) But thanks for your offer! You're in :)

Hey everyone, me again. I am now looking for people that can represent The Disney Database as a press member in their own country. After some months of trying to contact Buena Vista Home Entertainment I finally got a decent reply (instead of those robotic mails). Now, the reason I didn't get a reply is because I am not from the USA or Canada so I actually can not receive the press releases. So the person that e-mailed me will try to get me in. However, I do not want to do that for every country (Yes all countries will be featured on The Disney Database) so I wish I could have some foreign representors of The Disney Database that will register at the BVHE press sites in their own country. If you are interested, please PM me. Thanks!

you should have the website up and running before asking for press access.

It wount look serious enough when people are asking for access and then don't have anything to show for when asked for what they want the access for.
