Biography-
Born Donna Paige Helmintoller in Ft. Lauderdale on May 10th 1956, Paige O’Hara made history when she lent her angelic voice to the main character of Disney’s Best Picture Oscar nominee, Beauty and the Beast. Working in community theaters early in her career, Paige worked her way to Broadway when she played Ellie May Chipley in a revival of Show Boat.

Many years, and starring roles, later, O’Hara is best remembered as the Belle, the French heroine of Beauty and the Beast, and its subsequent sequels. Now, living in Las Vegas with her husband Michael Piontek, she’s currently starring in Menopause!- The Musical. Painting in her free time, she has also recently partnered with Disney to create the lovely painting collection, Belles by Belle.

So, with no further ado, let’s discuss Paige O'Hara!

Wow, has Belle really been her only cinematic role? Well, she was definitely fantastic in the role and did really well, both in showing the spark of the character as in singing the songs. She really did bring the right heart to Belle and was a major part of why Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney animated classic.

Also, worth a mention: during her brief cameo in Enchanted, Alan Menken quotes "Beauty and the Beast" in the score (like how "Part of Your World" plays a bit during one of Jodi Benson's scenes).

She's my favorite Disney voice actress, after Jodi. I have all her albums and most cast recordings also, I think. I was lucky enough to meet her at D23 and I also saw her in "Menopause: The Musical" in Vegas. She stayed after and talked with my boyfriend and I. Oh, and my mom tagged along. They had really weird conversations about.... menopause....

I like Paige a lot, and while she doesn't have a really exhaustive filmography, she has done some great Broadway roles.

And Poody you're very lucky to have met her! What exactly does she do in Menopause- The Musical? And do you, by any chance, remember her character's name? If you do I'll add it to the topic post.

I love Paige as Belle. She brings this warmth and truthfullness to the role. Plus she has a pretty awesome singing voice, too.

It's a huge treasure trove, though. That's where I got most of the stage and CD information. And re-reading that, I think I answered one of my own questions, it's says the character's name is "Soap Star"?

Yeah, she's the "Soap Star." None of the characters actually have names. It's about a bunch of older ladies chatting about their menopausal lives while shopping at Bloomingdales Oh, the other girls recognize her from being on Soaps, but apparently she's a "washed up star" and has had a lot of plastic surgery.

I’ve never even heard of that doll! Am I right in thinking those ads were released after BATB?

Correct, the dolls came out in 1992. The first commercial in the Instagram post has a 1993 timestamp.
