I ran across this article just now, and know some of you used to be, or still are, cast members at one of the Disney theme parks. Thought you all might find it interesting, or might have some of your own stories of your experiences as a Disney cast member...

Hehehe, I can relate to the "not my name" name tag. On occasion, I'd wear a "Jacob" or an "Ivan" when I didn't feel like being "Albert" for the day, though I generally wore the "Jacob" more than any other fake name. Once, just as a joke, I took a piece of tape, put it over my name, and wrote "Skippy" on it, as a manager decided to nickname me that. It lasted a couple hours without anyone noticing the difference. Finally, another manager finally noticed and said it wasn't in good show to wear a nametag with tape over it (never mind the "Skippy", it was the tape he was worried about), so I had to remove it. To this day, it's still on the back of that nametag.
When I went back to Disney for a brief time in 2007, they had updated the name tags to "Where Dreams Come True", so I couldn't use my "Happiest Celebration on Earth" one anymore. I had to borrow a "Dave" nametag from Costuming, and since about half of the cast members in my particular department were new, they didn't know me from 2005 or 2006, and assumed my name was Dave. Even one of the new managers didn't know that Dave wasn't my real name, and one day was calling out in the garage, "Dave! Hey, Dave!" and I had no idea it was in reference to me. Someone must have corrected him, because then I heard "Albert!" and I looked up to see who it was.
