Weird Glitches

Well, I was watching the Hunchback of Notre Dame on my basement TV, and something weird happened. The movie was playing like normal, but right after Hellfire, when Frollo exits his coach, subtitles started to play. They only played for three lines though. 'Good morning sir/oh/are you feeling alright?'. And after that, it stopped. Every time I watch it on my basement TV, that happens, but not on my upstairs television.

Has something similar happened to any of you?

I'd say it's the DVD player, maybe it's not quite following the hardware specs for the DVD format, or maybe the disc has an authoring error (that plays fine on your other player.)

I've had that every now and then, or I'd get Spanish/French subs instead of English or no subs, particularly if I tried to turn subs on or off during a movie, or if I'd watched a previous disc with subs on, and the new disc didn't have English subs, etc.

^^^Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl rocks! Just saying.

I don’t know if this counts as a glitch but I want to have a bitch about it; The other week my family and I was watching the lion king DVD, but it sticks then crashes after chapter 4 and won’t play the rest of the film, the real stinger is it will cost at least £60 to replace it, IF you can fined it because it is some sort of a special edition one.

^Amazon UK has a used copy going for 11.99. I dont know how much shipping is, but your problem may be solved.

It may have happened from watching it too many times. I read somewhere (EGear, I think) that DVDs have a viewing limit.

Thanks, but that is a region 1, it won’t play on all of the family’s dvd players, There was some there from £22, one of us will have to save up and buy another copy one day.
Scarred4life your avatar and banner also rock!

I borrowed Man of the house (not Disney) from my dad and it won’t play on my dvd player but it will play on all the others, weird.

Ahh! I just found out something horrible... My PotC- Curse of the Black Pearl Disc 2 won't play on my upstairs DVD player! It will play on my downstairs one, (Which is the older player) but not the upstairs one.
