Naturally I want the best Blu-Ray Player I can get for a reasonable price. What what would you recommended?

My boyfriend and I have an LG BD570 that we got on amazon for around $240. It depends on what you consider "cheap", but for us it was the best choice having all the features we wanted and being a relatively reasonable price. Plus the remote is much easier to use than the Samsung one we were looking at, which is frankly always a plus.

There are some older models that are under $100 retail. Im not sure if they have Bonus View or BD-Live, though.

What features do you want/need?

I've had this player since last June and its given me no problems. Its almost as fast as my PS3, and will do BD-Live though a wired connection.

I would like BD Live but other than that I'd just want a decent player with decent loading speeds and plays my movies well.

Have you tried Cnet? They offer reviews on what players are reliable and they even show the prices of the players.

That's how I got my player (A Sony BDP-N460, which was $179)

I love my Insignia NS-BRDVD3 fron Best Buy (enough to have bought 2-1 fir the living room & 1 for my bedroom). It has bd live, streaming Netflix capable (although I haven't used either myself). I just wanted a good quality player which this is. It's 2.0 & is usually around $125 (although I got one on Black Friday for $100). I highly recommend it.

Don't go too cheap, you'll only want a better one later. My family got me one for my birthday, one of those Magnavox players from Wal-mart which are actually Funai players. Its okay but I have experienced some picture freezing a few times. It works for now but when I have the money I'll have to get a better one.

Yeah, those sub $100 Magnavox players are 1.1 and not supposed to be very good. For a tad over $100 (& they put them on sale for $99.99 fairly often) the Insignia NS-BRDVD3 is a darn good machine.

My Maganavox was okay when it worked for me, but when it went dead, well it wasn't that great.

One of my friends has a Magnavox and he said it was a decent player. So far he hasn't run into any discs that wouldn't play. Of course no Profile 2.0/BD Live, but outside of the internet I know very few that actually use or care about that feature.

Anyway this player has recently been discounted to $60 - $80ish at some Wal-Marts too. For that price its tempting, but you can get better players for just a little over $100 now.

The Insignia that was recommended by buffalobill is another good player. Another one of my friends bought it because of the price and Netflix. He uses Netflix a lot, and really likes the player.

Just remember this:

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!

LG, Insignia, Pioneer, Samsung, Phillips, Sony and oh, so many more to choose from.

You want cheap return for your money then buy a cheap Blu-ray player. Don't say you haven't been warned.

Well that's not really fair as we can't all afford the most expensive players out there.

@Everyone: Thanks for the suggestions thus far. I'm hoping to get one by the end of summer. I'm hoping by then prices will go down a bit more. (I'm also hoping that the introduction of 3D players will help the price of regular players go down more.

I wish I could give you some kind of recommendation but I still don't have one myself. We're probably gonna opt for a Blu-ray drive instead of a regular player since they're cheaper; we already run our cable line through a PC, also use it as our DVD player, plus it comes in handy for Hulu and Netflix streaming (it's hooked up to an HD-TV so we're not limited to watching programs and movies on a little desk monitor).

That's an idea. I only have a family computer though and my Mom is overprotective/paranoid about the computer so I know I wouldn't be able to do that.
