Did anyone else see the commercial for Pocahontas on the Disney Channel this Saturday, Feb. 14th(obviously for the love story-Valentines Day connection)?!
I'm sure going to watch it since I haven't seen this movie in 5 or 6 years (okay, I saw a snippet in US History class last year), but when it showed the title logo, the words "Disney Princess" appeared. I know Pocahontas was some form of princess in her tribe, but I never heard of her referred to or in the promotions for Disney Princesses. Is this just a gimmick to get people to watch? I don't think it was necessary to add that in.

Yes, I've heard about Pocahontas being played at Disney Channel with the I Love Lizzie Marathon, I will watch Lizzie, but I think I'll watch my Pocahontas DVD instead. There will be no comertials and I'll have better picture quality.
Happy Valentine's Day!

I'll watch the Princess Diaries on ABC on Saturday February 14 on channel 7.
I only watch it once and I don't have the DVD.
But I'll buy it when the Special Edition comes out.

If I'm going to watch it I will just pop in the dvd. No commercials, better picture quality, and can pause it any time you want!

well i don't know good of picture quality the DVD has since it's not even Digitally mastered nor restored unlike the TV version been restored since they might be using the print that were going to be on the DVD release. So I would watch the one on the Disney channel with my commercials and all.

heh it has been a long time since i last posted.i have so much to talk about but at home i just felt like being THE SILENT WATCHER. anyway, since im bored at the cyber cafe now ill just post my thoughts since it concerns my most favorite film.
i would recommend watching pocahontas on tv because the picture quality wont b like on the GC dvd and when the demograph is high for the tv screening. disney will finally realized that poca is their unpolished gem that should b treasured and that there r fans out there who DO CARE and they might do something like giving pocahontas the treatment it deserves. i know i know the 2-disc is coming but for all we know it could b either on par with sleeping beauty or worse than the lion king(since thats what everyone wants to think of it..the flop after the lion king)

About the "Disney Princess" thing...
It's part of Disney Channel Worldwide's new "Disney Princess" branded programming, which is intended to appeal to young girls. Some of the international Disney Channels are getting a daily "Disney Princess Hour" with the Aladdin and Little Mermaid series, but so far, Disney Channel in the US is only getting "Disney Princess" movies.
It compliments nicely with Disney's boy-targeted Jetix programming, which begins its worldwide launch this weekend.
