Who's ready to see the music video of "Telephone"?

Well, I am it's going to premiere tonight on E! at 11:30 pm. On the Internet some say it's going to premiere at 9:00 pm other says at midnight on VEVO. I have no clue probably I'm gonna check at 9:00 pm.
I'm not a big fan of Lady Gaga but some of her songs are alright. But I like "Telephone" it's catchy.

Do you like "Telephone"? Are you ready to see the music video?

I actually didn't really like "Telephone" (I have Lady Gaga's CDs). I don't dislike Beyonce, but a Gaga/Beyonce mish-mash is not something that jumps to mind and it didn't turn out that well to me.

But I'm sure the music video will be nice regardless.

I agree it's not that good, at least not as good as "Monster" or "Dance in the Dark," both of which desperately should have been the 2nd single / video for/from The Fame Monster. But it's at least as good as the other dance songs on the album/EP-LP (which one is supposed to be the shorter one?). And in fact, a good dance song. I only wish I knew why she waited half a freaking year to finally put this thing out... Maybe had she not, there would be some hope for "Monster" or "Dance in the Dark" to get a single and/or video release.

Huh?

Let's hope that last part isn't true. My big concern is- is her next album coming out in 2010 or 2011. I hate waiting, since she's just about the only interesting thing going on in popular music right now.

Or at least it feels that way most of the time.

The music video kind of sucked...

And I love Gaga.

Well, I liked the video but I agree with Lazario she should of have released "Monster" or "Dance in the Dark". "Telephone" already has 4,248,335 views in just one day those number are going to increase a lot.

Yeah, it did. It was a complete and utter mess, nobody knew what they hell they were doing. They just knew they had a lot of money, a couple insanely famous performers, and some wacky costumes. If it's going to be that long, it should at least make some kind of sense.

I don't know. Personally, I don't think that Telephone was the right choice to be the second single from the album. Dance in the Dark, Speechless, or Alejandro would have been better choices.

However, I actually liked the music video. I thought it was really weird, really confusing, but really entertaining. That what I wanna see from GaGa! I love the whole "miniature movie" approach to music videos, sort of "Thriller-esque," and I wish it would be done more often. I also extremely love series of music videos. Telephone is the sequel to Paparazzi, and I believe I heard a rumor that the next video, Alejandro, will complete the trilogy.

I found the outfits interesting, the storyline disturbing yet entertaining, GaGa was lovely as always, and Beyonce was pretty great too. Watched it maybe three times today!

Oh, and it's getting lots of really good reviews according to Wiki. Apparently, a lot of people are hailing it as an "event in pop culture," the kind of video (again, like "Thriller") that you remember where you were the first time you saw it.... Definitely a triumph for GaGa! :D

Well, I don't mind the idea of the video. I don't disapprove of the ironic approach of not setting the "story" in a club where the song takes place. But irony in music videos has become so overrated and overblown. Lady Gaga is not necessarily supposed to be ironic. And with Beyonce on board, I've noticed there are a lot of new boundaries the video couldn't cross. Notice how sickeningly squeaky-clean Beyonce is in this video and how little she actually contributes to the "story." Meanwhile, Gaga is doing all this outrageous stuff. Making out with women, appearing practically nude, mocking the rumors about and public image of her, cussing, biting off that fast food article Beyonce sticks in her face as though it were phallic. What does Beyonce do? Drive the getaway car, poison her boyfriend, and call Gaga a "very very bad bad girlGaga."

At least "Paparazzi" had some sense of cohesion about it. And I always felt the song had a kind of morbid vibe to it. Not to mention the subject matter. It was actually incredibly suitable to then do a video where Argento-like dead bodies of stylistically murdered women proliferate all over the place. As though she didn't just kill her boyfriend, but perhaps her entire domestic staff as well...? In some way, fame lead her to kill people connected to her lifestyle. And murder was her way of becoming famous again. Not a new theory but one that was entertaining enough in that otherwise disposable and trashy video that already had some big logic problems. Compared to that, "Telephone" is an utter, unfocused mess. And nothing we see even relates to Lady Gaga or Beyonce except for the throwaway line in the beginning about proof she's really a woman.

That's funny. Because I understood people who don't even like her thought "Bad Romance" itself was a pop masterpiece. It certainly is a far better cohesive piece of work as a video and a better representation of what her world is about than "Telephone," the sloppy ode to Exploitation Cinema.

I agree, Paparazzi was better. But I can see how this one plays out as its sequel. I'm just saying that the critics liked it and that I liked it. If you didn't, then it's your opinion.

How could I? It's so sloppy and pointless. They keep breaking up the music from the completely ridiculous scenes that have nothing to do with anything, then when the music comes back- it's out of place. Telephones now have no relevance whatsoever to anything.

It's a bad video. They didn't try to make it good. They just let the money pay for everything. It's so sloppy, all I see is money. You can't like the video, you can only like money. That's all you're looking at. There's no acting going on, just looking into the camera wearing bizarre expensive outfits. Again, money. The dialogue has nothing to do with anything, so what we're doing is just looking at the womens' makeup. Again- money. Only the most expensive of that, I'm sure; and of course- you have to pay the people to put it on them. Gotta pay Tyrese. Gotta buy that Pussy Wagon. Dozens of outfits for lame back-up dancers. And it didn't even look that good.

There's no effort that went into the idea for the video. No hard work to make it interesting. Why should I like it when no one tried? They had so much money, they didn't need to try. They sat back and let boring cliches do the driving.

I think the video had potential, but the intro is overlong, there are far too many breaks in the music and the product placement is ridiculous. I know 99% of music videos by major label artists have product placement these days, but "Telephone" just had way too much. I mean really that "let's make a sandwich" segment was pretty much nothing but a advertisement for Wonder Bread and Miracle Whip placed in a music video. I know it's probably supposed to be a lampoon of the "make me a sammich bitch" joke that seems so popular with straight guys right now, but still, she was dancing around with the Miracle Whip bottle for god sake!

This is just for fun, but since Gaga's birthday is coming next week, I thought I might do a little tribute photo gallery to her music videos.

Well I still strongly dislike it. But your avatar is actually one of my all-time UD favorites.

I'm so behind everything- is that out yet?

Time to pimp Lady Gaga some more:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3n2Usy_YT70&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3n2Usy_YT70&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
This thing goes on for a bit, and I haven't watched all 5 parts - but this segment just BLEW ME AWAY. Especially starting with the question he asks at 5:18. He finishes his question at 6:14 (longest question ever asked in an interview? May-be), but her response is absolutely astounding. This is not only a moment that reminds us that: hey... nobody ever takes Britney or Beyonce's songs this seriously (nobody ever asks questions like that about any songs by today's other artists / performers), it reminds us exactly what kind of an artist she is. Both honest ("I wasn't famous when I wrote this record- I was eating shit in the industry") and completely devoted to what she's doing (whether it's always good or not, whether it makes sense or is over-the-top or neither). You don't hear Britney or Christina talk like that. Ever. Nor do you see journalists or critics giving the stuff they do the same amount of attention and analysis.

Wow, nice interview. I just love seeing her interviews, her resonses to questions are always so interesting. But I gotta say, her voice sounds harsher than it did on Ellen or Oprah... it sounds like her voice is really tired. And I'm really not loving the super-tan look for her... it doesn't really work too well.

My first thought was who is the black drag queen dressed as Gaga?

Then I was like... woah.

The Alejandro video is supposed to premier during the first week of June, so you haven't missed it yet Lazario.

YAY!! This would be the first time I saw a Fame Monster video before the hype reaction set-in. I had horror fans telling me how amazing "Bad Romance" was 2 months before I actually watched the video. Then, there was the whole Product Placement scandal (mini-scandal) already hit the air before I saw "Telephone."

I don't know crap about tanning. But... maybe that's just a look she was doing for the photo shoot she talks about in the interview. Could just be a spray-on tan or spray paint tan that she didn't feel like washing off or whatever.

As for her voice, this interview is pretty much for the already converted crowd. I'll put up the YouTube link, if you haven't watched the other 4 parts. It's that good.
