What was the first disney movie you ever saw? For me my first in theatres was Tarzan, when I was only 3. At home I think it was probably Aladdin, which according to my parents I watched non-stop and when it finished I started it right back at the beginning

You know... I was thinking about starting this post myself but then I think I remember already having been asked this question.
It had to be Bambi. It was the first Disney animated film to have been theatrically released after I was born that I could be old enough to remember. When was that? IMDb tells me it was July 1988. I was 5.

The Lion King was the first one I saw theatrically. As for the first Disney flick I saw at home, I really don't remember, but it could have been anything. I can pretty much thank Disney for teaching me how to use a video-player at such a young age.

I can barely recall seeing Oliver & Company in theaters when I was 5. But I mightve seen other Disney films before that. For some reason I have faint memories of seeing Snow White long before it was released on video in 1995. But it could've been this viewing toy I used to have where you put in this 8track kinda thing and then you crank this handle and you get to see a short clip from this tiny viewing screen. It was a really cool toy and I had a tape thing for a scene from Snow White and a Mickey Mouse cartoon.
If anyone remembered what this toy was that would be great! I think it was electronic since it had to be powered by a bulb.

I'm about the same age, But
The Rescuers is not the first new release I saw. That was
Robin Hood but I do not remember that outing as clearly as going to
The Rescuers. The very first Disney movie I ever saw was a re-release of
Dumbo, because my mum took me, but I was very young for I don't remember..
Mayhem, just be glad you weren't a toddler in the 90's and could fully appriciate the new releases of "Aladdin. "Beauty and the Beast" etc.
What Disney fan wouldn't want to jump into a time machine to be able to watch the world-premiere of
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs?
Or is there any Disneyfan here old enough to actually have done that?

I'm not sure, honestly.
The first movie I remember seeing was either Lion King or the live action 101 Dalmatians (pretty sure it was Lion King because I got a Simba plushie for my pre-school graduation), but I think I saw Aladdin in theaters because I remember the 'where they cut off your ear' line when I heard it on the sountrack.
For reference, I was born in 1989, so I might be wrong.

The First Disney Film You Saw

Cinderella on VHS. I was 3. I broke my arm reaching for a hanging ring on a play playground and falling to the ground. To cheer me up, my parents let me rent a video. It was either just Cinderella or that and The Wizard of Oz, but I think it was just Cinderella. I was watching it on our couch with my arm in a cast. I was entranced, and I loved it. I remember the part with the stepsisters in the music room from that first viewing really well for some reason.
And so Cinderella and The Wizard of Oz became my favorites, and a million pausing the movie one frame at a time, watching my favorite parts and drawing them over and overs later, more often with Cinderella, now I say Cinderella's my top favorite film ever today.
I remember seeing Aladdin in theaters, and that may have been the first one I ever saw in theaters, but I really think I saw other Disney films before that one, but was too young to remember them. I remember my aunt not liking how Aladdin, supposed to be the hero, lied so much...

My very first Disney movie was Cinderella on VHS at my aunt's house. I feel asleep at the ball scene because it was late and we had just travelled for hours to visit her and my cousins. Then a month after we left, she made for us a dubbed tape of Cinderella and The Little Mermaid together. I guess that's why both movies are my favorite Disney movies.
First Disney movie I saw in theaters was Enchanted.
Oh, and first live action Disney movie was most likely Mary Poppins.

Although I'm too young to remember it either way, the first Disney film that I probably watched was either Sleeping Beauty or Alice in Wonderland, on video for that matter. The first Disney film that I ever saw theatrically was Cinderella, which I can remember reasonably vividly.

I don't remember what the first live-action Disney film was that I saw in theatres, but it was either one of the 70's films on it's first issue or one of the older films on reissue during that era.
The first DAC I'm sure I've seen on it's initial theatrical release was The Many Adventures Of Winnie the Pooh, followed shortly afterwards by The Rescuers. Of course I may have seen a reissue of a DAC before these came out, since everytime they got re-released I went to see them.
It's also technically possible that I saw Robin Hood on its first run prior to Pooh and Rescuers, but if I did, I was way too little to have retained any memory of it!
Starting with Pooh and Rescuers, I've since seen every DAC and Pixar film since then on its original theatrical release!
Also in the 70's I watched The Wonderful World Of Disney weekly anthology series EVERY week until it was canceled in the 80's, so my first exposure to Disney films may have actually been on television.

The first Disney movie I remember seeing was The Jungle Book in one of its theatrical re-releases when I was very small. I believe it was a double feature with Splash.
I remember seeing Pinocchio at a movie theater soon thereafter.

My earliest memory is off "Snow White" and "The Jungle Book." I'm just not sure which one was which.

My dad told me before that he thinks that
Bambi was my first-ever theatrical experience. I would've been 3. And I have no idea what would've been my first on VHS.
