On January 30th my boyfriend Mike and I went to Disneyland, where we had a ridiculously romantic weekend planned. We did a romantic weekend last year as well, so I didn't think anything EXTRA special was happening. We booked a night in the Disneyland Hotel and dinner reservations at the Blue Bayou. I was so excited!
Things were going well. Apparently Mike was a nervous wreck, but I was so excited to be in Disney, that I didn't notice. About an hour before dinner we were walking by the castle and Mike pulled me over to the Snow White wishing well, which was to the side of it. He took out some coins for us to make a wish. We flipped the coins into the well. He asked me what I wished for, but I told him that I wouldn't say because I if I did it wouldn't come true. Then he said that he hoped that I could make HIS wish come true. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so surprised that instead of saying "yes," I yelled "WHAT?!" It took me a few minutes to compose myself and poor Mike was still down on the ground, and had to ask me again for my answer. I said of course yes and grabbed the ring. Then we went in front of the castle and got a professional picture.
We got these amazing buttons for free that said "Just Engaged." We wore them around the park and everyone was congratulating us and I loved all the attention.
Dinner was amazing at the Blue Bayou. Mike got the salmon and I got the surf and turf - the petite lobster tail and the filet mingon. haha. I know it was a lot, but it was amazing - plus we had some gift cards. My only complaint was that they didn't have wine or champagne or any alcohol to order.
At the end of the night we went back to the hotel and had a bottle of champagne that he brought. It was a perfect night!!!
