I heard recently that Mamoru Hosoda's anime hit of last year, "Summer Wars," had recently been released on DVD in Japan.

I was wondering if anybody heard any news as to when it'll reach the USA as a Region 1 DVD. Mamoru Hosoda's previous hit, "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" took FOREVER to reach the states.

The dvd/bluray release of summer wars in japan is set for march 3.

It should be released in europe in december.

No word of a R1 release yet tho.

Good film. Not as good as Digimon Adventure, Our War Game or The Girl Who Leapt Through Time in my opinion, but just as captivating!
