A Quick Question about the 80s Disney video releases

On a lot of the Disney videos released in the 1980s (and even into the early 1990s), the Buena Vista logo is always cut from the beginning of the film (Same thing with the RKO logo, which was always replaced by the Buena Vista logo on post-1953 theatrical re-issues).
I was wondering why that is. Even a few newer DVD releases, like "The Aristocats" Special Edition don't have the Buena Vista logo.
