The hunt for past Disney Treasures grows weary. What now?

My hunt for past Disney Treasures has become weary. All the places near me (even with traveling out a little) that sell used movies haven't had any treasures let alone the ones I've been looking for. I don't want purchase them on-line as the prices are much much higher. On your hunt for the treasures, what offline places have you found Disney Treasures at? Where else do you recommend looking off-line?
Oh and the treasures I'm looking for are the first two waves except 'Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studios' which I miraculously found a few months ago.

I do not know how I can help you. If you do not want to order from online stores, then just keep checking the stores around you that do sell used dvds. That is the only advice I can offer you. Also, try garage or yard sales. You may not find any, but it cannot hurt to look.

FYE at Cherry Hill Mall might still have the Disneyland and Davy Crockett Treasures, along with a few more from other waves. It's been awhile since I've been there, but they were still there last time I checked.
Also, Tunes has an online Amazon store, and you could possibly go to the one in Turnersville and ask them to order a Treasures for you, provided they have it.

I went to Cherry Hill mall yesterday and checked and they didn't have any. Thanks for the tip anyway. I was worth a shot.

Why not try putting your name on the Wish List at CD Tradepost for those WDT that you are missing???
www.CDTradepost.com
I picked up the "Davy Crockett" and "Mickey Mouse" editions for as little as $9.99 each. And shipping is only $1.
Check them out, they have one of the largest and most complete Disney files I have ever seen. Much better than Game Stop, because they care about the resale value of each and every movie.
While you are there, check out the Blu-Ray listings in each store and see if you are missing anything there. I just picked up
Close Encounter of the Third Kind - 3-th Anniversary Ultimate Collection on Blu-Ray and only paid $19.99 for it. In store prices range as high as $59.99 so this was a bargain.

are those Disney store boxes still going around? I started collecting from wave 3 on and I got the first two waves from a Disney store Box set.
I got lucky.

Pray that Disney re-releases the content one day again?
I myself am down "Disneyland: Secrets" and "Dr. Syn," both go for around $100 each now used. What I'm trying to understand by how Disney did it was were they trying to make themselves rich or all the original buyers of the various Treasures?

I managed to get On The Front Lines used for $10 at EB Games. That was the only time I've seen one used. The discs were in great shape (no scratches) and all the inserts were in it. Only the tin had a small dent in it, but even the brand new tins had some small dents in them.
Like most people that jumped on the band wagon late, I'm missing the earlier waves. Here's what I'm missing:
Wave 1
Mickey Mouse in Living Color Volume 1
Silly Symphonies
Disneyland USA
Davy Crockett: The Complete Televised Series
Wave 2
Mickey Mouse in Black and White
The Complete Goofy
Wave 3
Mickey Mouse in Living Color Volume 2
Tomorrowland
Wave 4
Mickey Mouse in Black and White Volume 2
The Complete Pluto Volume 1
Wave 5
The Chronological Donald Volume 2
The Adventures of Spin and Marty
Elfego Baca and the Swamp Fox: Legendary Heroes
Wave 6
More Silly Symphonies (Volume 2)
The Complete Pluto Volume 2
Waves 7, 8, & 9 I have complete.

I jumped on early, seeing how special they were when they were first released.
I have all of them.

I think part of why many didn't get them in the beginning was that a very large percentage of people hadn't switched over to DVD yet. (The first two waves did come out in 2001 and 2002 respectively.) Combine that with the fact that they are limited editions and you got yourself a lot of unsatisfied customers.

I wish I had started collecting these. I haven't bought any, but I've rented a few and I wish I HAD bought them.
Here's hoping Disney re-releases them in the future, maybe on Blu Ray.

Keep searching is my advice. I just found the Cronological Donald volume 2 tonight at a Goodwill for 7 bucks. On top of that, it had 2 DMR codes for other movies in it.

I've always purchased the Treasures the day they come out, so "Treasure Hunting" has never been a problem for me. You can always try e*Bay - I'd be careful about buying stuff on Amazon, as I've been burned three times and received bootleg product.

The two I missed out all came down to money, as in I did not have it when they first came out. Such is life. As for the Amazon thing however, good to know.
Half.com is a good place to look...

Just to clarify, I never received bootleg WD Treasures on Amazon because I buy them at Brick and Mortars day and date. However, I've bought product from Amazon that was clearly bootleg pirated crap once I received it -- the Fantasia 1982 soundtrack, the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, and another comedy title from the early 80s. All bootlegs.

@Rudy Matt: Ouch. That was always my fear when it came to getting WD Treasures from Amazon/Ebay. I never used Amazon but I've used Ebay and have been burned on it. (I ordered a vinyl record box set the promptly never arrived.) It's very tempting seeing all the listings of a WD Treasure I need. I have to remind myself that there's a reason why there are pages and pages of Ebay guides that warn against Disney bootlegs. I thnk I'll eventually run into them (Like I did with 'Behind the Scenes..' )
