Based on the success of the "Disney 2000 Decade Poll", I thought it would be a cool idea to do these polls for the different Disney decades. Vote for which film you liked the most from each decade and feel free to rank the others in order from most liked to most disliked.

Here's my ranking:

1. Peter Pan
2. Sleeping Beauty
3. Lady and the Tramp
4. Alice in Wonderland
5. Cinderella

My vote was for Cinderella.

If I was asked this a year ago I would have answered Peter Pan in a second, but out of no where I have grown to love Cinderella! It is my second favourite DAC of all time. Unlike many people, I actually think Cinderella's personality is quite likable (I find she's not as whiny as Aurora or Snow White). I volunteer at a high school and help out in directing plays and this year we did an adaption of Disney's Cinderella (obviously wasn't as great as the movie), but one thing I really liked was that they retained the same personality for the character of Cinderella.

2) Alice in Wonderland
3) Peter Pan
4) Sleeping Beauty
5) Lady and the Tramp

Wow, this was much more difficult than I inticipated:

Alice in Wonderland
Cinderella
Peter Pan
Sleeping Beauty
Lady and the Tramp

I really do love all five of these films, but I love Alice's quirkiness the most.

This may be the hardest for me. I honestly love all of these big time. It's probably between Cinderella and Peter Pan, but I don't know. I love the others too...

Difficult to choose between Lady and the tramp and Cinderella as no. 1, love them both much. Here's my ranking:

1. Cinderella
2. Lady and the Tramp
3. Alice in Wondeland
4. Sleeping Beauty (very beautifully animated, good music, but Alice was a bit more daring)
5. Peter Pan

Sleeping Beauty-as much as I derail the movie's story plot and the faries, the art and the designs is very beautiful. I also like Aurora even though she got very minimum screen time.

Alice in Wonderland

Cinderella

Peter Pan

Lady and the Tramp

Cindy and Alice are definitely in my top ten favorite Disney films! I like Cinderella better, mainly because I love Cinderella herself. She's beautiful and a great singer, and a much stronger protagonist than the other two Walt-era princesses. Who says what she was dreaming of was meeting a handsome prince? If you ask me.... Unlike Aurora, she's a girl who knows how to prioritize... I think all she wanted was her freedom. It just happened to come with riches, power, a gorgeous castle, and a (rather cardboard-cutout-esque) prince! (I hate her taste in men, but what can you do? The heart wants what it wants!)

However, Alice is a really close second. I just love the overall style of the film, and the whole surrealism thing is very interesting. Really, any adaptation of Alice is bound to be pretty awesome, and Disney's classic version doesn't dissappoint! And, IMO, Kathryn Beaumont's performance is a highlight. She really brings Alice to life, and captures her personality beautifully. I just love her voice!

Lady and the Tramp is great, nothing much more to say about it!

Sleeping Beauty has a great villian, the best Walt-era prince, and those funny little fairies! It's a classic, epic fairy tale, and I love that! But it really does suffer from a nearly useless "leading lady," and the fact that a couple scenes feel like they were more or less stuck into place to fluff up the running time. "Scumps," of course, is the best example.

Peter Pan is, to me, one of the weaker Disney movies. I mean, it has some points that make it beautiful to me. It's visually gorgeous, and the songs "Second Star to the Right" and "You Can Fly!" are really lovely. But I think it wastes a lot of emotional appeal that it could have had. Where is the romantic tension between Wendy and Peter? It's never resolved, in any way shape or form. We could have had a real tearjerker scene when we think that Tink is dead.... But it cuts right to those pirates and their shenanigans, and poof! She's alive! That's it! And really, Tink isn't very likeable at all. How the hell did she become one of the mascots of the Disney company? I mean, I'm glad she did, and I understand her better after seeing her in her own series, I think it explains a bit about her personality in parts. But her potential is wasted in this movie. And, despite how Beaumont's voice has matured (especially evident when she sings "Your Mother and Mine" with more vocal talent than she displayed in her songs in Alice), she just doesn't bring the same immediate "likeableness" to Wendy that she did to Alice.

Maybe it's an unorthodox list. But it's mine, and I'm sticking to it.
