Man, the Oscars are going to last days this year with their segment on looking back at who we've lost this year. I stopped counting.

This is one of the saddest ones though. Since she was so young.

thats 3 :(

RIP....I wonder what was the reason she went into cardiac arrest...drugs or did she have a medical condition...or just plain bad luck...but for her being 32 something tells me there is more to this death than is being reported....

either way....its very sad indeed...

What the #*%?!

This is tragic. I loved Brittany's film work. She was such a talent. There is no justice. :(

What the? 32 years old? I never think there's a right age to pass away, but 32 is way too young. Even though I've only seen her in Sin City, this is something you don't wish anybody.

This is so sad :( I almost couldn't believe it when I saw it on Yahoo. I'll admit the only film I've seen her in was Clueless, but some of her other films I had been interested in seeing since their releases (Just Married and Little Black Book are the main two). RIP Brittany.

I agree. It's very sad that she was so young and talented, but like you said, it's strange that she had a cardiac arrest at 32. I know it could happen to anyone, but it just seems unusual. I'm sure as the week goes on we'll find out more.

I literally did a double take when I read the news... I mean...Jesus Christ.

Sad part was that I was watching Happy Feet all week long, which was one of her best performances of her career.

RIP Brittany. :(

I was completely stunned when I read this as well. It's always so tragic when someone at that age passes away. May she rest in peace. :(

One of her best acting roles came in "Girl, Interrupted". Check it out if you haven't already. She also has a fantastic part in "Riding in Cars with Boys".

I'm so sad about Brittany, I thought she was a good actress and will be missed.
What a sad year for Preformers. We lost so many good names this year.
Farrah Fawcett, Michael, Jackson, Patrick Swayze, Natasha Richardson, John Hughes, Ron Silver, Bea Arthur, David Carradine, Karl Malden, DJ AM, Ed McMahon, Dom Deluise, Ricardo Montalban, Walter Cronkite, Henry Gibson, Soupy Sales, Les Paul, Roy Disney And Now Brittany, And there were many others, including Athletes like Chris Henry and Steve McNair, Wrestlers - Test, Cousin Luke, and Umaga
The list is countkess and there are 2 weeks keft in the year still

So no King of the Hill reunion/movie?

It's official: 2009: the Year of Celebrity Deaths.

And even more scarily it seems, 2009 is the year of dying young.

2009 has been just a tragic year! So many deaths...and not just celebrity deaths either. :-(

That's so sad. Only 32 years young. :(

I haven't seen much of her films, but I did see Sin City and thought she did a great job.

didn't her husband have some sort of heart problem this year, too? Not that I want to spread rumors, but if so it would be odd that both of them are having heart troubles with no underlying cause. I mean, more odd than someone that young dying of cardiac arrest would normally be.

There is now going to be a formal investigation into her death. Murphy might have suffered from a congenital heart defect (my brother does, and it was only a sheer stroke of luck that it was actually detected, otherwise he'd have simply dropped dead years ago).

I'll be interested to see what the official findings are.

I think its kinda like Lung Cancer...everyone assumes the only way to get it is by tobacco or smoking.....which I do stay away from smoking like its the plage (which it is) but i've heard of people that get Lung Cancer and never smoked or sniffed a day in their life.....

I remember I was at a health fair in high school and they said even men can get breast cancer.....although the majority you hear about is women getting it because it sometimes never crosses one mind...that that could happen.....

I don't want to speculate what lead to her cardiac arrest either too much but as someone already said....it will be interesting what we learn more in the week or coming weeks that lead to this
