without him there wouldn't have been Up, WALL-E or The Princess and the Frog. He meant so much to Disney. Wow, I really have no words.

I couldn't believe it when I saw that. He is the main reason Disney is the way it is.

That is quite upsetting. He was the main man for the Disney Renaissance. He also had the idea of continuing Fantasia, thus creating Fantasia 2000. He wll be dearly missed.

Rest In Peace, Roy.

I didn't realize he had cancer. I was shocked when I saw the headline on Yahoo.

It seems eerie Roy died almost to the day 43 years after Walt Disney's death.

That's truly upsetting. I realize he's never had as much influence as his uncle, but to me, he always felt like our era's Walt. That sort of friendly figurehead who represents the whole company and what it stands for. It was always nice having a familiar face introduce us to the new projects the company was churning out. He will be missed.

That is so sad! We owe this man so much, especially in his later years he was a pioneer for the animation studios. I do hope that he got to hear about the success and #1 position of Princess and the Frog before his passing...

May he rest in peace :(

I didn't know, either.

He had helped lead coups that ousted people taking the company in the wrong direction - TWICE.

If that were to ever happen again (people taking the company in the wrong direction, I mean), who would do it? The only thing the company could do is quack like the sitting duck it would become.

In any case, you will be missed, Roy...

I'm actually speechless, can't describe how upset I am. As someone who grew up with the VHS' of the Disney classics, I still remember the intro he had on the Snow White video. Again, I'm too upset to give a proper response, sorry.
