Selecting an Avatar

i'm trying to change my avatar but i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. i'm going to my profile selecting to delete the image and selecting a new avatar from what they give us. when i submit i end with the same mickey mouse avatar. can anybody help please?

Have you filled out all three sections at the top that ask for your password?

i did fill out the top except the new password category because i'm not changing it. does it need to be filled out as well?

Yeah, if I remember correctly there was some kind of glitch with the forum software from when they were combating spam, so all three password sections (even where it says to change the password) need to be filled out now.
Just use the same password you've always used for all three fields, no need to actually change it. Should work fine.
