Currently there's 9 waves of WDT and a slight possibility of a 10th wave. Most of the waves contains animated sets like Donald, Mickey, Goofy and fair amount of Live action too.

Slight possibility? What makes you say that?

Well somebody from Disney said that they planned 3 more treasures for 2007-2009. So I guess WDT is doin the limbo for the 2010 season

Uh-oh, well that's not good! They can't cancel Treasures until they've released SotS, dammit!

Like I said, WDT is kinda limbo right now, so who knows, maybe Bill Cotter will confirm something for us by early/mid spring (I hope) Yes release Song Of The South and an Alice Comedies set would be perfect too

Good luck with the collecting, you'll find some of the Treasures minus Zorro S1/S2 with hefty price tags.
This link should help.

last month i was listening to an online interview discussion with jerry beck and he stated that leonard maltin said there will be a 10th wave coming up.

Oh I stand corrected, thank you Jlppr, greatly appericated.
Guessin Jerry didn't say what the contents are yet??

no that is still unclear, the only he did say was that leonard maltin is expressing interest in a set of disneyland episodes which included donald duck. but he also said that we may not see that in the coming wave because restoration has not been started on those episodes and they need it. so it sounds to me that there may be more than one wave coming. i sure hope they keep those plans too. i need to see SotS and a second Disney Rarities

Well they had "Day In The Life Of D.Duck" on Vol 2/Vol 3 of WDT: Donald Duck and you think they'd would've included the DisneyLand Donald Duck episodes on all 4 Donald Duck dvds.

yeah you would, i actually enjoyed that episode a lot. i wouldn't mind buying that DVD. hopefully we get more news soon. i know for a fact that jerry beck will be doing another interview in march announcing cartoon set releases for the coming year. we will be seeing a bit coming up. more looney tunes, mighty mouse, WDT and others were mentioned but that weren' confirmed yet. hopefully he'll touch the WDT in march

Woohoo! *jumping for joy* I'm already setting some money aside for it. Rats, gonna be bankrupt; wave 10, Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, Black Cauldron, Princess and the Frog, Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, Prep and Landing...

Unfortunately, the future of the Walt Disney Treasures is unclear. I wrote to Leonard Maltin two weeks ago and this is what he wrote :
"There have been many changes at the Disney Company and I don't know the future of the Treasures."
I think he talked about the departure of Dick Cook and the arrival of Rich Ross...

Yeah I am not getting my hopes up for a Treasure wave 10...although If it did happen I like many disney fans on here would jump for joy etc...
It would be nice though if Disney said something official whether there will be any continuation of The WDT line....but you know Disney....random random...and sometimes predictible.....and sometimes throws a curveball

I want to point out that Jerry Beck's not I think insider with Disney, but he know Maltin so what he told us on Stu's show (the show Jipplr mentioned) is correct until something more valid comes out.
For animated fantic on this forum thats likes animation other than Disney this is what ws mentoned on the show:
Jerry's insider with Warners and he said they are retooling LT/MM series as one disc sets for now and no double dipping, starting with Bugs Bunny and Daffy shorts,no double dipping. Since Warner owns MGM pre-1986 they are hoping to do Tom and Jerry in new proper manner ( hope thats opens up the door for none Tom and Jerry MGM animated short). The Popeyes are currently on Hold, but there is hope that somthing can be done in future.
Jerry's alsoinsider with Universal and he said more Woody sets are on hold but he said Universal would love to do more.
Jerry's now insider with Paramount, and the Might Mouse set is confirmed this next Jan 5, 2010. The hope is that it sales are good and Paramount have exicuse to open up its library of Terrytoons and Max Fleisher*, Famous Studio* shorts.
Van Burean was mentoned on the show but Jerry are not insider on those but very good freind of his Steve Stanch owns them now (ask Jipplar)
Nothing however was mentoned on Columbia Pictures Shorts and UPA shorts.
(*)=Exluding Popeye and the Haverytoons

thank you for posting this, i was gonna do that myself but you saved me the trouble. as for the Van Beuren cartoons i can't remember what exactly was said but steve does own them and you can find many of those shorts through his website or amazon.com the company tname throug which they sell the dvd's is Thunderbean. i recently purchased one of the sets including the cubby bear shorts. i haven't seen it all but it does look good. they have been restored pretty good. i know e has his own website i could get for anyone who wants it, but i know for a fact that you may be able to get more info on another website: goldenagecartoons.com they have a forum there as well and both steve and jerry beck are members there and sometimes give out some info. and as for jerry beck you can also find him in cartoonbrew.com[/url]
