So confused by D23

So I registered to become a member of D23 because a.) I love this company, and b.) I wanted that Walt Disney Treasures set!!!

So anyways, my package just came in the mail today but nothing has changed on the order’s status and I haven’t been billed yet for the $81 and change. Is this just a fluke with their system or what? Anyone else have any similar occurrences when you joined the community?

Hmm that's intresting because I registered to D23 about 2 weeks ago, nothing has arrived as of yet, though I didn't expect it too due to my location. However I still haven't been billed which I though I would have been

That's weird. I signed up on March 10 and I was charged right before my welcome kit shipped.

I joined in August. I purchased a membership gift card at Walt Disney World and so my card was only charged the tax when I placed my order at the Web site, but I was charged as soon as my materials shipped. Although, I am still waiting on my membership card...

I have a friend who got a bent poster and they sent him a new one, so you should contact D23 customer service if it's important to you.

It's been 21 days and I've had the package since Thursday or Friday. I'm normally honest about these things and part of me wants to call customer service about it but it's close to $82 and if they aren't going to charge me, might as well accept this as amazing gift for 24 years of loyalty to the company. :D

I agree. The D23 magazines always have bent corners and dings. If enough of us call customer service, perhaps Disney will change the mailing box. :)

Must be your mail carrier. My fourth issue just came and it was in perfect condition, just like the previous 3.

Also, since shipping is included in your membership, asking them to change the box will most likely mean an increase in membership price next year.

When the Welcome Kit came in the mail, the Fall 2009 issue was a little bit beat up but this new issue that just came in last week was well protected and flawless.

Still haven't been charged for the membership. I wonder if they'll get around to charging me and hitting me up the same time as the Treasure DVD set later on in the coming month.

I just ordered the D23 membership along with the 54-disc Treasures set (which was up for pre-order and will become available on December 8th) and my credit card was charged immediately for the whole price. My questions are: 1) Why was my card charged before the items got shipped? 2) In case the Treasures set runs out by the time my order is shipped, how will I get my money back?

They place a hold on your credit card immediately to make sure funds are available, it will fall off after a couple of days until the final charges go through.

1.) I'm assuming that you were instantly charged to ensure that payment went through before they started the process. But that is just my theory, I don't know for sure.

2.) The number of copies won't run out. Disneystore.com is really good about not selling items once they are all claimed. I have purchase several limited edition items form them that sold out during the pre-order phase and I've never heard a complaint of somebody not getting theirs because they over sold.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

That is the date that the 54-disc D23 Exclusive Walt Disney Treasures box set is released. Disneystore.com is currently taking pre-orders for the set, but customers won't receive them until December 8th.

@satas & goofystitch: Oh, good. Thank you both for letting me know. It is the first time I'm shopping from DisneyStore.com and as I am used to Amazon's payment policies I got really worried.

@TomorrowlandMan: Yes, the release date for the Treasures set has been moved forward to December 8th. Check the D23 store site and you will see it for yourself.
