Hey, all!
Have any of you obtained either Midnight Madness or Return to Oz? If so, how do the discs compare to the Anchor Bay releases (transfer, extras, et cetera)? Are they worth getting to replace them, or should I hold on to the old ones?

What's "The Return To Oz"?
BTW I have a weird question... I was wondering if the famous "Wizard Of Oz" has a scene where Dorothy walks through this hall with women's heads?! LOL I know I sound crazy but I just have this image in my head (from when I was 4) from that particular Wizard Of Oz and I remember watching it lot's of times but I'm not sure if it's the 1939 film.

You´re joking, right?
The scene you talk about is in Return to Oz! (released today!)

LOL!!!!! I would never have guessed I was watching a sequel (right?) all that time
I have some random shots in my head of this movie (skaters lol) but I was almost sure it was the 1939 because of how Dorothy looked...
LOL that was absurd, but now at least I know what movie it was.
Thanks!

I haven't had the chance to pick up Return yet, so I would also appreciate feedback from those who got it already.

The box says it is enhanced for 16 x 9 televisions. So, I'm confused.

So...have you played the disc yet? Is it indeed anamporhic? Or is the box horribly incorrect?

I don't have the disc, so I have no idea. I just know this:

Man! This DVD has certainly proved itself to be the epitome of confusion! And like you said, it isn't showing up anywhere. I wonder if it's being delayed.

I saw it at Best Buy today. They had 3 copies, it was $16.99. I wanna get it Misadventures of Merlin Jones and possibly Midnight Madness. They had all of them. I have never seen Midnight Madness though, is it any good?

At Costco they didn't have any of the following release Disney films on February 3, 2004:
Return to Oz
Those Calloways
Midnight Madness
Bon Voyage!
Follow Me, Boys!
The Misadventures of Merlin Jones
Perfect Harmony
Ruby Bridges
Selma, Lord, Selma
I know that Amazon has them but where else can you buy them?
Are any of the today’s releases any good?

The Best Buy here in San Diego was the only place I could find the new Disney releases (all for $16.99) I picked up "Those Calloways" and it is indeed 1.66:1 and 16X9 enhanced. I previewed the disc. It's a nice transfer, but not from a super clean print (minor dirt, etc.) I didn't buy "Return to Oz" because I would like conformation that it really is 16X9 enhanced before I replace my old Anchor Bay disc.

I don't have a ws tv so I can't tell for sure but I got Return To Oz today from DDD & it says on the box & insert (YES it has an insert!) enhanced for ws tvs. The extras are the Balk interviews, 4 tv spots & the original trailer. If nothing else I'm happy because it is a Disney disc AND I ebayed my Anchor Bay one for $25 (netted $20 after S&H) so the DDD copy for $13.80 means I made $6.20 and I like the artwork a lot more than the Anchor Bay one.

Switch the picture setting of your DVD player from 4:3 to 16:9. If the picture becomes stretched, it's anamorphic.
