With the age of Blu-Ray upon us, I've decided to redo my Disney Collection. I mainly collect only the Classics and the sequels, at least that's how I did before anyway.

I know Disney is new with Blu, but what titles are avaliable now? I know Sleeping Beauty started them and I intend to get that first, followed by Snow White.

A list of some sorts would help. Thanks so much!

How odd, i'm doing this as well w/my decision starting this past week. I was skeptical regarding this as I thought I would only go blu on my must favorite movies only. I thought that any of the Disney classics would look better on blu, so I figured why not. So far I have Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, and will be getting Snow White. I've decided to just do the animated classics that are important to me and bring back great memories, so my collection will have holes in it, but by choice only.

I believe this is all that has been released, in regards to the original animated classics. I also own Nightmare Before Christmas, but that is just b/c I knew it would look awesome in HD.

In fairness, though, that list is mainly just a general list of titles Disney has put out (and it hasn't been updated for a while now), as opposed to specific titles. To make it easy (I'm just listing animated/part-animated films and the DTV films), here's my own list:

Does anyone feel the need to "restart" their collection with both the Blu-Ray and DVD versions of the upcoming re-releases? I have yet to put faith into Blu-Ray surviving... but still would like to have the High-Def versions as well as the regular DVD sets if Blu-Ray dies.. (or vice versa??)

Blu-Ray has already survived every hurdle thrown at it (HD DVD, the economy, Marky), so I don't think it will go away anytime soon, but the beauty of the Blu-Ray/DVD combo packs is that it allows you to watch the films pretty much anywhere. With your concerns about the format, I would suggest only buying combo packs, but I have upgraded a few titles to Blu-Ray and sold my DVD copies off since I really don't need them anymore. I think that both DVD and Blu-Ray will exist side by side for a while, but Blu-Ray is clearly the superior product. I didn't "restart" my collection, but I've replace my favorite films with their Blu-Ray versions.

I love starting with Blu's since I never really owned DVDs in general so awesomeness all around, and it comes with the DVD for those who are investing for the future PLUS you get 10 dollars off usually with a new release so how can you go wrong?

Thank you! I want to start now so I don't get behind. I started my DVD collection very late in the game and missed out on alot of great releases. I'm going to order Sleeping Beauty next week to begin my new collection. I'm pretty sure Blu-Ray will be around for awhile so it's time to upgrade. I still need to sell off my old collection though, I have about fifty titles to move. Anyone interested?

So far the only Disney titles I have on Blu are "Sleeping Beauty", "Pinocchio", "Enchanted", "The Haunted Mansion", "High School Musical 2", and "High School Musical 3".

This is very much my philosophy too. I'm not going to replace everything in my collection with Blu - 99% of the classic movies I own probably won't even make the leap to BD anyway - so I'm happy collecting both formats. DVD has never been cheaper lately so that's awesome too!

I'm going to old off on replacing everything with Blu. I just read the other day that 3D TVs are supposed to hit the market maybe next year. And I expect 3D Blu-Rays will probably follow soon after. I do hope they come with both a 3D and regular version, in case you don't want to watch the 3D effects.

I actually just started my Disney Blu-ray collection as well! (I only just got my Blu-ray player and HD TV about a month ago).

I just ordered Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio and WALL-E and Ratatoullie from amazon.

I already own A Bug's Life, Cars, Nightmare Before Christmas, High School Musical 1-3, and all the Pirates movies on Blu-ray.

Eagerly awaiting Snow White, Up, and Monster's Inc. (and the eventual releases of other Disney and Pixar movies )

Bingo, this is exactly what I'm doing also. There is no way I'm upgrading all my DVDs. I'm only upgrading my absolute favorites of all time, or if there one I missed out on the first time (like Fantasia), and new releases from here on out. I can't imagine though they are going to release everything on BD again. I can't imagine a "Sword in the Stone" BD or "Make Mine Music" for example. But who knows.

I have a feeling that all of the DACs will eventually be available in HD, but I think some of the older live action films will probably never make the jump. Unless Blu-Ray becomes the dominant format, I can't see Disney releasing the same kinds of catalog titles in high definition.

I've been doing this since I started blu-ray. Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, At World's End, National Treasure, Ratatouille, Cars, and Enchanted are the ones I have now, with Snow White being the next one. That's currently 7 out of 20 or 21. The only non-disney re-purchases are March of the Penguins and Superman Returns, the latter which I got thru red2blu.

I don't own Blu-Ray anytime soon, but I still have a lot of Disney DVD's, VHS, CD's and even classic Disney vinyl along with cassette tapes and a series of Read-Along book and records for you to enjoy! I had a great time playing some Disneyland albums on my GE Wildcat portable record player in order to play Disney classics the old fashioned way.

I got really great deals on Snow White/Sleeping Beauty/Pinocchio so I'm already started on the re-boot of my collection! I'm very excited about this.

What titles are you selling TheNikki? Lady and the Tramp PE?

My plan with my DVD and Blu collection is that I will only buy the DVD version of a release if it really is an upgrade from the previous release(s) of the film. For example, I'm only going to purchase the Bluray version of Snow White because my PE DVD of SWat7D seems like a better DVD release.

I have Snow White, Pinocchio, Wall-E and Sleeping Beauty on blu. I'll probably get Bolt soon as well, and I plan on adding Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons. In February I'll probably get the Dumbo Bluray and DVD release, because it seems like the DVD will be an upgrade from the Big Top Edition (which is the version of Dumbo I own). I just want to try to have the best DVD collection I can possibly have as well as upgrading because I believe that Blu is here to stay.

Thw only reasons I buy a Blu-Ray disc is if it's a movie I REALLY like or if it's at a decent price.
