I just heard on the tv. The guy who invented the electric guitar. That's a loss.

I had the pleasure of meeting Les Paul, here in Wichita in May of 2001. He was touring with a Museum exhibit called the History of the Electric Guitar. He was at our Sedgwick County Historical Museum for three days and each day he played four 20-minute mini-concerts demonstrating the things he invented.
On Saturday night, he played to a sold out Century II Concert Theatre for almost two hours. I remember that vividly because I was in the front row, and caught one of his guitar picks, which I treasure immensely.
R.I.P.: Les Paul

Actually he invented the solid boy electric guitar(ie hard shell). HOwever that might as well be the electic guitar as we really dont know any other kind.
