That's so sad. The 80's wouldn't have been the 80's without John Hughes movies. He'll be missed.

I just heard, and that's really sad to hear. The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, Sixteen Candles, and Pretty in Pink are some of my favorites. R.I.P. :(

Well, St. Elmo was a Joel Schumacher film but I could see that mistake with people like Emilio Estevez, Andrew McCarthy, and Judd Nelson around that time.

I'm suprised that he died already and he was 59! Seriously, we might as well call 2009: "The Year That Celebrities Died". Thanks again Grim Reaper. :x

Damn, and I was just talking about him as we watched National Lampoon’s Vacation couple weeks ago. He did a lot of great, memorable movies. :(

Unexpected, bizarre, and completely unbelievable!

Don't these people go to their doctors? Ever? If he had a weak heart, he should have known about it.

This was really upsetting to me. See, John Hughes movies have always been very special to me, those that know me know that I am pretty much an 80s fanatic, and Pretty in Pink and Breakfast Club top my all-time favorite movies list. Yesterday was my birthday. It was awful news! But, to think that on my birthday, the girl who adores the 80s and even met her fiance on an 80s site, he had to die on that day. Its ironic. In fact, its one of my birthday traditions to watch Sixteen Candles at the end of the day, and last night.. that was bittersweet, because I felt I watched it also as a memorial.

I was shocked when I heard about this yesterday. This is a very sad year for celebrity deaths. First Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcet, then Walter Cronkite, and now this. I will always remember John Hughes' films.

R.I.P. John Hughes.

Man, and I loved Christmas Vacation. Why did he have to die so suddenly?
