Warner Bros. will release I Want A Dog For Christmas, Charlie Brown on DVD Ocotber 6th! It will include a new featurette and the DVD debut of Happy New Year Charlie Brown! Sadly, it will drop the original featurette on making A Charlie Brown Christmas and Charlie Brown Christmas Tales from the Paramount DVD. Here's the link for the cover:

It says on top of the cover Remastered Deluxe Edition, but we know this came out on VHS and DVD in 2003 by Paramount so it will likely use the same transfer.

Why are there two different threads for this topic?

They were made six minutes apart and have yet to be merged together.

On topic: I'd love the Extra and the New Year special but I'm still trying to decide to rebuy through DEs or decade sets and if WB will do any more Decade sets....

Let's hope they do a 70s, 80s, and 90s collection. I really do not care if they do a 00s collection as I have not seen any of the specials from that decade.

I have a few Peanuts specials (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Great Pumpkin, Snoopy's Reunion, Valentine), but decided to pass on the others and start getting them in the decade sets.

The next collection - 'Peanuts: The 1970s Collection - Vol. 1' includes -- Play it Again, Charlie Brown (1971), You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown (1972), There's No Time for Love, Charlie Brown (1973), A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973), It's a Mystery, Charlie Brown (1974), and It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (1974). At this point there isn't a release date, but it includes 'Play it again, Charlie Brown' and 'It's a mystery, Charlie Brown', which haven't been issued on DVD.
