What was it like getting YOUR wisdom teeth out?

I got mine out today. My sister was all like "When they wake you up, you will be completely out of it." Well, I went in, they put me to sleep, and I really didn't feel a thing. When I was falling asleep, I remember I was thinking about Michael Jackson's music, and what felt like 5 minutes later, they woke me up and said they were done. I was like, "Really? That was quick." About 5 minutes later, they put me in a wheelchair and got me to the car. I was really talkative on the way home (my sister thinks it was part of the drugs, Haha), and we got a Frosty at Wendy's. Haha. We got home, and we watched "That Thing You Do" and "Toy Story." I slept for awhile, woke up, and watched "School of Rock." I felt like barfing for awhile, but that feeling went away after awhile. And painkillers are miracle workers. Haha. I was 14 when I got my wisdom teeth out. How old were you?

I haven't gotten my wisdom teeth out, and I hopefully won't have to. :D

I still have mine. Luckily they came in well, and didn't cause any problems.

Dude, I was the same way when my wisdom teeth were removed in the summer of 2002.

I was also talkative a lot too when it was done. It was funny because Kram and I got them done in the same day, and he's normally the talkative one, but he was really quiet after his, while I couldn't shut up.

And the painkillers truly are awesome.

I think the one thing I didn't like about the whole thing was how I couldn't have solid food for a few days, thus I grew to dislike pudding for some time. I didn't start eating it again until probably 2005 or so, and even now, I don't eat it very often.

I had to have a root canal last year, and at the time my dentist informed me that my wisdom teeth weren't worth "saving" and will need to come out. I'm gonna need another root canal as well as a lot of other work, but I'm putting off as much as possible until I can get some dental insurance.

I hope I never have to take the same painkillers again!. The dentist put me on some kind of narcotic about a week before the procedure (due to a broken tooth I had a painfully exposed nerve). I was not only acting way goofy on the stuff, but got really emotional on top of it. I'm emotional enough without any drugs!

I had mine taken out when I was 16, it was in preparation for an operation on my mouth. I had all four out at the same time and my mouth totally swelled up. I could hardly open my mouth :(

Mine was pretty much the same experience as yours, Zack. Was under the gas and passed out, and then just woke up. Although I do remember throwing up in the trashcan right after, but they said that usually happens to someone if they come out of the gas too quick. I then just remember going home with gaws in my mouth, eating ice cream, and watching March of the Penguins with dad and still passing out now and then from the after effects of the gas. :p

My top ones are in, but don't cause me trouble. Bottom ones haven't started to come through yet, but many people's never do. I hope I'm that lucky cause there is definitely no room for them.

The only thing that may cause me to have to have them removed is they has smashed all my other top teeth together. I used to have a gap between my two front teeth but it has completely disappeared since the wisdom teeth came in.

I know I need a lot of other dental work though (I haven't seen a dentist in over 10 years... not a single one in my city, nor any nearby take the insurance I have now), but I'm waiting till October when my benefits package from my job kicks in.

I had all 4 of mine taken out at once when I was wither 17 or 18. When I woke up, I was out of it and felt drunk, haha. Not that I knew or know what feeling drunk is like. I was fine, though...just napped when I got home. I worked the night of or the next night after. I've heard stories like some of yours', how you couldn't eat for a week and were in so much pain. I was lucky, I guess. :)

I had mine out, and had roughly the same experience(but without music. More of a game-ish dream). and I didn't watch movies that day. I went to see Caspian the next day, though. I quickly grew sick of a diet of pudding, applesauce, and frosties after about two days. No pain, for the most part.

I had only one wisdom tooth, and it was pulled out a couple of months ago. The dentist gave me a few shots of Novocain, waited about five minutes, and yanked it out. The pressure put on the teeth beside it was weird, but other than that it was no big deal. I had a little pain that night, but I took the pain pill the dentist gave me and the pain went away.

I got mine out in the Summer of 2003. I was wide awake the whole time. I got a shot of novocaine though. Oy, the vicodin was a lifesaver for me.
