Hall of Presidents Discussion

I searched and searched, and found no thread for the Hall of Presidents. So here's one!

An article about the upcoming changes to Hall of Presidents. I didn't know that anything new was coming except for the Obama animatronic, so I'm quite excited.

************

I don't like Hall of Presidents as much as Epcot's The American Adventure (which I absolutely love), and I don't visit the Hall of Presidents too often, but I do like to see it from time to time. I like the how the Presidents talk to other Presidents who weren't even necessarily alive when they were. And the animatronics are very nicely done. I don't remember too clearly exactly what they talk about; Lincoln gives his speech, and then the current President talks, right? I'm not sure the last time that I went to the attraction, but I don't think that it was that long ago- my memory is poor. Maybe the new additions will make it more exciting and memorable!

diapointment

I have been wiating to see the new Hall of Presidents for many mounths. I am going to Walt Disny World in August. :D I was so excited to see the Anamotronic Barack Obama give One of Obama's many great speaches. But after reading this artical and reading that he will simply be taking the oath of office (as if that's interesting the second time around) rather than giving an epic speach I am very disapionted. :(

After doing a little reaserch of my own I have discovered that Obama will in fact give a speech. :D This atraction will be upgraded in numerous ways. George washington will actually have a speeking role. There will be a documentary by the famous presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin. :o Thge documentary will be narated by Morgan Freeman. 8)

I've actually never been to the Hall of Presidents. I might go now that it's been updated.

I saw it yesterday. I've never been a fan, but I think the new version is way better than the previous incarnation. What is funny is that it was a preview day so everybody was told "no pictures and no video taping," but several times during the show flashes from cameras went off (once during the video portion, which was really annoying). Also, the guy next to me was trying to slyly tape it, so I leaned over to my boyfriend and whispered loud enough for him to hear "He's taping the show!" and the guy quickly turned his camera off.

A video of President Obama recording his dialog (don't worry- it only plays a snippet of it, if you're worried about spoilers):

For many moons now I have been looking forward to my trip to Walt Disney World next mounth. :D I have been looking forward particularly to the new Hall of presidents. I wish to know many things about the new hall of presidents. For example now that 3 pressidents will have speeking parts will Obama's speech be shortened? :? How long is the show as a whole? What specific topics dose Doris Kerns Goodwin's Documentary cover? Despite having checked this thread regularly no one wants to post any actual experiences concerning the new Hall of Presidents. :x

As for me, my WDW pass expired in May, so I'm unable to have an actual experience until next year sometime! You might want to see who wrote the articles on thedisneyblog.com (links below) and try contacting that person, since someone there has seen the attraction. Just a thought!

The Hall of Presidents has never been a favorite of mine and I've seen it maybe 4 times in my life. However, the new incarnation is my favorite version. Most of the video is the same as it's always been, going from the declaration of independence through the abolition of slavery to today. The main difference I noticed was that it now uses a digital projector and the narration has been redone by Morgan Freeman. President Obama's speech doesn't seem any longer or shorter than George W. Bush's was. The show seems to be the same length.

I saw it about a week ago, and actually really enjoyed it. I thought the update was nice, and enjoyed Obama's speech.
