Guys, Honor over at Blue Sky Disney has just reported that Wayne Allwine..the voice of Mickey has passed away this weekend.
Our thoughts and well wishes to Russi his wife (the voice of Minnie) and to his family.
He will be sadly missed.

I came over here to post this as well after hearing it. I thought it was just a horrible rumor, but apparently it's been confirmed. This is terrible news to me, and my heart goes greatly out to Russi. I can't imagine how she must feel right now.
Rest in peace, Mr. Allwine. From everything I've heard and seen him in interviews, he was a wonderful and warm person, and I grew up hearing his voice everywhere as Mickey. He'll be truly missed..

Well that sucks. Funny thing, I used to able to do a spot on impression of him, until my voice changed. heh though my vocab was kinda limited to "oh boy Minnie" and "gosh". as an adult and I cant do it anymore, my voice lives in a higher or lower pitch than I need for the most part.
I wonder who they'll get next. I never did like Walt's version of the voice for some reason. This one will be the one I think of when I hear Mickey. Will they try to find someone who sounds the same, or someones unique take on it?

Not that I doubt anyone....but where is a source from this....because I just tried to google news it and I couldn't Jiminny Cricket Sqat about this....Is this because perhaps the Family hasn't officially announced it....I hope this isn't true but if it is....may his fans including me and his family friends etc stay strong.....and it will be okay to shed a lot tears...I mean this is in my mind a tragic day for Disney and Mickey Mouse Fans or anyone who has heard him....
Just to stress I would like to see a source such as usa today website or something...for me to be able to put it to rest....

I saw that....although I don't find Wikipedia to be a news source that is reliable at least in situation like this......you all know this story....anyone can edit delete or create something on Wikipedia and it looks real.....I could edit it to say Pinocchio to in toy form and be a friend of Woody's in Toy Story 3....
I hope it isnt true.....but I am not denying that it's true either...

So far Blue Sky Disney has reported it but he hasnt disclosed his source. Its very strange that there is little announcement of it elsewhere at this stage, but I guess well have to wait and see.

Well, it hasn't mentioned anything of the sort on IMDB yet, so...
But nevertheless, it is very sad indeed. Now who will replace him as the voice of Mickey, such as on "Clubhouse"?

Someone just added to the wikipedia article to say the cause of death was "heart complications" . . .

It looks like Wikipedia isn't pulling any legs for once, for here is a more legitimate resource:
http://legends.disney.go.com/legends/de ... ne+Allwine.
However, near the beginning, it says, and I quote: "...and share four children including three who think they sound like Mickey, too."
So, who knows? Maybe they can take over as the voice of Mickey.

I know I think that's the first question that will come in mind other than Oh No...this is terrible.....If I were Disney....I wouldn't rush into getting another one unless they have a darn excellent idea of who could voice him like they have some resumes submitted and I think it should be paneled by some consumers of differ People voicing Mickey mouse and put a rating on each one.....I mean...there have only been 3 including Wayne that have on the record that has voiced Mickey and been acknowledged....the first being Walt Disney......

Ordinarily, I wouldn't rush things, either. But let's not forget there is a show on TV that current has the Fab Six that they must tend to ("Mickey Mouse Clubhouse", anyone?).
Well, maybe they can one of Wayne's children who claim they sound like Mickey. The article claims that.

IIRC, "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" already finished production and they're not making new episodes anymore.
ETA:
Yeah, they're done.

Yeah that's true....although I was thinking they could use some lines and voice recordings they have of Wayne voicing Mickey in the clubhouse series or I bet Disney still has some made with his voice so they might not have to rush...I guess it Depends on how many finished episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse they have and all...
Also another thing that comes to my mind is Kingdom Hearts....they have the DS game coming out in the fall to the North America....I am wondering if it will get pushed back due to this...

Yes, you just reminded me about KH! And not to mention all those shows at the Disney parks or the ice shows.

This is terrible news, I am so saddened by this. Its so awful, and to think.. at this moment in time, there is no Mickey Mouse.

I am going to watch some Mickey tonight in his honor. Perhaps Mickey's 60th Birthday, from 1988.
