That's new!
But there better be more! *shakes fist*
Maybe they'll make it 2 discs? The movie itself is 141 min and if all is carried over from the 30th anniversary DVD plus more like the bolded featuette there might not be enough room to cram it all on 1 disc.
They're carrying over the trailers though! Scaps will be pleased.
Any New Angela Lansbury Interviews for New Bedknobs DVD?

I wonder if they have filmed some new interviews with Angela Lansbury for the Making Of Bedknobs and Broomsticks Documentary?
I wonder who they'll use to anchor/narrate the Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs Blu Ray/DVD documentary , because the first time around they used Angela Lansbury on Snow White as the Narrator on the 2001 Platinum Edition DVD! I doubt that they'll reuse her I think that they'll go for another star - I wonder who - any ideas?

I'm not going to hold my breath for a documentary on the film (although I would sure love it), but hopefully there will be more new features such as the special effects one. I'm just happy to hear that Disney is giving Bedknobs a special edition.
I wonder too if this one they'll include the enhanced director's cut edition like on the last DVD, or the original cut theatrical version, or possibly both. If they release the restored edition, I just hope they get somebody new to do Emelius's. The last one sounded more like John Cleese than David Tomlinson.

Yay! This is one of my favourite live-action films (easily in my top 10), and it's gonna keep the trailers! The trailers! The things Disney couldn't be bothered to include on a majority of their catalogue and new releases!
I'm excited for "Wizards of Special Effects", though I hope it's not the only new special feature.

A two-disc set would definitely be ideal for
Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Alas, I doubt Disney would be that kind to us.

Well, there is the "Music Magic" featurette from the old DVD, which is a good-enough documentary (especially given Disney's treatment of catalog titles). Still, I wouldn't mind an all-new one with the surviving cast/crew and a few Disney historians.

It'd be cool if "A Step in the Right Direction" was discovered in the vaults somewhere, along with the missing audio for the footage that was cut (and subsequently re-instated in 1996). That way we don't have to hear "John Cleese", or that horrid kid who dubbed Charles. If I have to hear notCharles say "mango wuzzle" one more time...

Even though I won't be buying this exact release (tempting as it is), a future BD release will likely be a clone of this version, so I'm hoping for extensive supplements. What I'd really like to see is the full Disney Channel special that the DVD cuts in half and calls "Music Magic." I only saw that special once when it first aired, but I remember comments from Angela that weren't on the DVD, like how she believes "A Step in the Right Direction" may have been taken by a crew member and is lying in a closet somewhere. I really want her and Richard Sherman to provide a commentary track, as well. Footage from both the premiere (ala Mary Poppins) and the special 25th anniversary event would also be fantastic inclusions.

I think in my own opinion the only way this is becoming a 2-disc is if a Disney File digital copy is on disc 2......
Although I do Agree that it deserves a 2-disc with a bunch of bonus features....it's a great film....perhaps it will be released around the same time as Pete's Dragon re-release

these are great news for me too. I like the movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" a lot. I think it is really a charming movie. A two disc special edition would be great too.

My local Border's is reducing their stock of DVD's and have a lot of stuff marked down 50%. I picked up the 30th Anniversary Edition of 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks' yesterday for $8.49 plus tax.

I don't know if any of the other stores are doing this, but it may be worth a phone call to find out.

Borders and Barnes and Noble are both reducing their DVD stock. I made a thread about it a little while ago. Here it is:
