Caught this the moment it came on. The epic Dragon sequence from Sleeping Beauty was referenced in an episode of one of, if not my most, favorite TV Shows, Chowder:

Really? It's on Cartoon Network, and unlike other animated shows, it actually gives me hearty laughs (the dialogue).

Yeah, I only watch Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. Or shows that I grew up watching. I don't waste my time with the crap that's out there today.

I haven't been watching it because of school. Do you remember the name of the episode so I watch it the next time it on?

One of my favorite episodes was when the spent every single sment at the mall!!

This reference is from the episode "The Fire Breather".

I love how they run out of money for animation and they have to do a car wash!!

It is one of the most clever t.v. shows on CN or Disney Channel right now.

But yes; that was extremely clever, and truly had me in both awe and dying of laughter.

Ya, didn't want to give it away b/c it was perfectly set up!

Plus the stores in the background like Hot Issue were a great treat!

I hear ya. SW is pretty cool. Take my word for it, when it comes to sketch comedy; Chowder has me in splits (IMO, again).

I don't like Chowder, I don't find it very funny or endearing.

I love the Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

But Chowder's got as much comedy as Flapjack, if not more so. They both follow the same comedy elements: Sketch and Slapstick.

I know. Many, many people like both equally.

I find Flapjack (character) to be cuter and sillier than Chowder (character).

I think Bubbie and K'nuckles are funnier parental figures than Mung and Truffles.

Everyone has their own tastes. I'm not knocking on you for liking Chowder.

...I love its art, though. Its so vibrant and colorful!

Besides, I love Flapjack as well (gives me as much hearty laughs as Chowder).

You know, when I first saw Flapjack I thought it was Chowder's sister series because of all the similarities...

- Both star a young boy (Chowder and Flapjack)

- Who are named after food dishes

- Live at highly fantastic places (Marzipan City, Stormalong)

- Are apparently orphans under the care of weird parental figures (Truffles and Mung Daal, Bubbie)

- They are apprentices in hopes of making their dreams come true (Chowder wants to be a great chef, Flap wants to be an adventurer)

- Both are tutored under men who are really losers with visions of grandeur (Mung Daal and K'nuckles)

- Both are befriended by food vendors (Gazpacho and Peppermint Larry)

- And both are victims of many circumstances due to their naiveté, ignorance and lack of education

In terms of show production, both shows feature a striking visual appeal (though Chowder is very colorful while Flapjack leans towards a more dark palette), both are shows based on universal themes (cooking and piracy) and both even have stop motion segments!

I personally like Chowder more, but Flapjack's good too. My biggest issue with both shows, though, is that the CN keeps running them to the ground. They need to stop showing the same episodes over and over and focus on showing new episodes.

My overall issue with CN is that it has too many imported and outsourced shows, mainly from Japan and Canada. There isn't that many original shows nowadays. I mean I like 6teen, Total Drama Island and even LOSE, but I wish they would borrow from their "Cartoon Cartoon" Days and be more inventive and creative with their series.

But I am going WAY off topic now...

I love Chowder, but have no time to watch any TV! You know, it's not just funny dialogue. The visual humour is excellently weird as well.

They also referenced Diney's Cinderella in the show.

Schnitzel is worked too hard by Mung, the blue chef, wearing and apron and holding a mop, just like Cinderella worked too hard by her stepfamily, wearing an apron and holding a broom. So a bunch of rats call him "Schnitzel Fella" like the mice in "The Work Song".

I was really hoping they would keep up with the Cinderella referencing, but it ended there.

Interestingly, Radda quits his job after being worked so hard, to work for someone better. It backfires on him as his new boss tries to make him marry her, which he detests, but still, feminists would say Cinderella should have left her home and cruel bosses as well...if she actually could.

I knew I was forgetting the second Disney reference, LOL. BTW, "Radda's" name IS actually Shnitzel (hence the title of that song).
