As everyone here might now, Roy Disney is taking up the fight against Eisner. Eveyone with a Walt Disney share (or more then one) will be able to vote for or against Eisner.

I just found this website: http://www.oneshare.com/

It alowes you to buy exactly one chare and that makes you able to vote.

I am going to buy one (if I am able to vote, although I live in Norway), and for all others out there beliving in this cause should realy get a share.

If it shows that we wount be able to get shares in time for this vote in march, there will always be one next year as well. :)

Disney's stock closed today at $23.67 per share.

When you buy stock, typically there is a brokerage fee. The fee varies a lot from from one broker to the next. Online trading is usually cheaper than traditional brokers.

Most brokers, online or offline, have minimal investment limitations. For example, you may need to deposit a certain amount in order to even open an account. Also, they may have a set minimum number of shares or a minimum dollar amount for any given transaction.

OneShare.com makes it simple to buy just one share of a stock. Although you really do end up owning a legal share of the company, it is more about the novelty than it is about an investment. You pay them the market price for the stock plus their $39 processing fee which covers their brokerage fee and commission. The current total price for one share of Disney stock from OneShare.com is $63 plus a minimum of $5 shipping. The thing that makes it worth considering is the cool Disney stock certificate that you will receive; it is suitable for framing and of course OneStock.com is more than happy to sell you the frame along with your purchase. For $63, you get it in a free paper frame which is essentially just to protect the certificate during shipping; the paper is not really made for display purposes. The other frames start out around $34 and go up from there; anything other than the paper frame will also increase your shipping cost by another $5.

The stock certificate looks like this :

I have one on my mantle in the living room that I bought back in August 1998. Unfortunately though it is actually no longer valid. It is a long story that I do not care to go into at the moment, but the short story is that I got swindled.

I am sorry to hear that you got svindeled when buying your stock. I bet that you did not get it from a broker.

Almost no broker want to sell only one share of stock, but many of the big brokers recomend www.oneshare.com if you just want one.

They are serious and there should be no problem at all with them.

The fee that the charge are also for the stock itself because those are almost never issued anymore. When you buy and sell stock it is just in digital numbers at an account. This is a great paper stock for framing and it would look realy great.

When you own a stock you can register at Disneys own Sharholders database on www.disney.com.

You will also recive the anual report from the Disney company every year.

Is it still the case that if you attend a Walt Disney Company shareholder's meeting you get 2 free tickets to Disneyland?

Unfortunately no. I believe that they stopped doing that back in the mid 90s.

Probably Eisner's decision.

The swindle did not happen when I bought the one share of stock. I bought it from either OneShare.com SingleShare.com, I forget which --- anyway, everything was fine.

The trouble started a couple years later. It is a long story having to do with dividend reinvestment and a company that ended up going bankrupt to avoid facing a major class action lawsuit. Unfortunately in the process, I lost my share of stock; fortunately I only lost the one share. Other people fared much worse.

I briefly skimmed all above. Sorry if this is a repeat.

But to vote this year, you need to have owned the stock before Jan 16, 2004.

My shares are in a street name. Now does anyone know how to vote with street name shares? Need help here.

Voting Eisner out!

You can find much help on voting at www.savedisney.com
