Are You Gay 2? It's a New, More Fabulous Thread!

Time for the sequel everyone!

Are you in the closet or not? Rant about lost loves, secret desires, people you think are hot, the march for equal rights, you're struggles for love and acceptance, Gay Cinema and anything pretty in pink!

PS, no Straighties allowed.

OK Straighties can come too.

As a side note, I'm not sure what the hell Rosie is but she sure didn't stop the old thread from closing 3 years ago! And what a change in everyone's orientation since then (of the people who currently post that is).

There's your video Chris.

As for this thread, it needs all the rainbows, glitter, sweaty muscle men in tight clothes and me singing "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" as it can get! :D

That too, we'll make a special pink hat for him to wear for the occasion.

Are You Gay?

I watched the video Chris, it was a good'n. I know I thought Yes originally meant Yes for gay marriage to happen, not be banned.

Anyway...

So let me get this...straight.

I was talking about how we should stop saying certain things are girly or gay that don't biologically have anything to do with a sex. Like gay men shouldn't be called girly for swaying their hips, lisping, being flamboyant, liking musical theater, or liking pink and glitter.

And in the previous thread you all said that you call gay guys who do all that girly instead of just gay.

But now, you're welcoming glitter and pink as part of gay culture and glitter and pink and being flamboyant are, indeed, gay?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why the Disney fairy tale films you and I like aren't necessarily girly, Flam-Ham, but gay, or can be called gay as well. Maybe they're girly in that they star females and involve female clothes. That's pretty much it. Because guess what. Those films, specially Sleeping Beauty, feature glitter, and even rainbows.

Get this: a lot of girls like pink and glitter and fancyness and singing and dancing. But not all girls.

And a lot of gay boys like pink and glitter and fancyness and singing and dancing. Just not all of them.

So we can call such things gay as much as we can call them girly. They're part of being gay, they help identify gay guys.

Case closed.

Bingo Panfan, but if Mike wants to take it seriously it's his choice.

Since they are the epitome of TV's Lesbian Couples, here is Tara Maclay singing "Under Your Spell" to Willow Rosenberg in the musical episode, "Once More, With Feeling" from the amazing, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Since I gave the link to Aaron, why not post it here:

Absolutely! I'm gay, and let me be the first to say that I'm not trying to offend anyone. I'm just having fun. In fact, I'm not your typical (or perhaps stereotypical is a better word) gay man. Just looking at me, or talking to me, most people have no idea that I'm gay until I tell them. I don't fit into many of the gay stereotypes that are noted on the outside. However, if the topic of discussion is Madonna, Broadway musicals, The Golden Girls.... well, that's another scenario! :) But anyway, the color pink, rainbows, glitter - they are being tossed around in this thread because it is a gay community and it's all in good fun. I personally am a jokester and don't take everything so seriously all the time. I like to joke around and have fun most of the time. Likewise, I can also sit down and have an intelligent conversation about the gay rights movement and the importance of securing our civil rights and liberties.

Take my testimony for what it is, boys and girls. Just letting you all get to know ME a little - I joke around a lot and don't take everything so seriously, so please don't be offended by any crazy off-the-wall comments I might make. In all honesty I'm all about gender and sexual equality, redefining gender roles, equal rights for all, self expression and all... that.... JAAAZZ! :)

This isn't nearly as new and more fabulous as I would have thought from the topic title. Or bright or bold enough. I'm a little let down, really. It's just not gay enough. Sigh.

So, Mike, let me get this gay... I'm a little confused by your post.

You're saying that we shouldn't call things that are gay.... gay?

I don't get it. :?

We could make it gayer, but I have a feeling it would lead to thread lock. Were doin' the best we can Brendan, give us a few days.

This thread isn't truly gay until someone posts this.

Every time I come to this thread, the song "Keep It Gay" from The Producers comes to mind. I don't know if it's because of the excessive efforts to gay-up this thread or because Broadway show tunes are usually running through my head.
