what a surprise. malaysia is not a country known for hardcore disney fans..but here we are getting the aladdin musical masterpiece edition and the rumored mulan n pocahontas. there's supposed to be 4 titles to this edition..with the movies numbered on the side..aladdin no. 1, mulan no. 2, an unknown title no.3 and pocahontas no. 4. i only bought pocahontas and im disappointed it didnt have a music ONLY option nor does it have color changing lyrics ala karaoke. but its got a nice slipcover and cardboard packaging.

here's the link for the pocahontas dvd.

and mulan's

this website was advertised on the backcover.unfortunately its inaccessible in my country

side note..bolt single disc is out with the deluxe disc features..good thing i dont have to pay for the extra digital disc for meagre bonus features. :)

EDIT: also available in singapore

What a bummer they're didnt continue the Masterpiece Edition DVD line in the U.S. I guess Alice In Wonderland's ME didnt make a lot of dough. They shouldve start the line with a more guaranteed seller.

The "Materpiece Edition" line that included just Alice and the "Musical Masterpiece Edition" this thread is devoted to are 2 totally different things.

Did anyone notice that the covers that the sites feautures don't match the covers that are feutured in the video of the site? Look:

Cover art can easily be changed, I'm sure.

Anyway, we still got good editions of all those films, so I'm only complaining about the "fresh" artwork. Not much to complain about, actually.

Yeah, but which one is the final one?

I'll go out on a limb and say that the bottom ones are final. The top ones look too identical, but can become part of a box set.

[open up the whole Platinum line-up can of worms]
Well, Alice reportedly sold better than Aladdin did...

The first cover images are those from the UK and Australia. It looks like elsewhere is getting a redesign - but those previous covers are already out and available.

I'm fully aware of that, but I am just wondering why the Masterpiece line in the US was cancelled after only one title. I know that Pocahontas and Mulan were supposed to also be part of that line.

I'm guessing they didn't want too much confusion and collision with the Platinum Line. Plus, they already used "masterpiece" for the VHS "Masterpiece Collection".

Thailand has also announced this edition to be released this year but has canceled them lately.

Does any of them has Thai sound and subtitle? Then I will buy from your country, akhenaten.

the audio option for pocahontas only offers english, mandarin, portuguese and spanish. the inclusion of the latter two baffles me.even the subtitle does not offer malay nor thai.however, ill check if its the same case for aladdin and mulan. they didnt even include if i never knew you and the reprise.

buy this only if u dont have the title yet or if ur a cover fanatic. :)
