At sixty-one pages, I think it's time for a new thread. Most usually only last around fifty, anyway.

Volume Six

Rewatched The Breakfast Club, which has easily been added to my top ten list.

The New Guy - The only reason I watched this movie was because it starred Eliza Dushku and Zooey Deschenal. Other than them brightening up the screen for the not-so-many scenes they were in, it was a pretty horrible movie. Just another generic high school "comedy."

Be Kind, Rewind-Finishing it tomorrow, but it's kinda funny in parts.

Knocked Up - This my introduction to Judd Aptow, and I really liked what I saw. Katharine Heigl and Paul Rudd were definitely my favorite parts of the movie. I thought it was hilarious and touching at the same time, and can't wait to his other films!

I Love You, Man - Paul Rudd is slowly becoming my favorite comedic actor. With this film and Role Models, he's reproven to me just how great he is when he's front and center, albeit sharing the spotlight with an equally funny co-star. This film had me in stitches, with its total reassessment of the romantic comedy. In the film, Rudd's character Peter Klaven isn't looking for the love of his life. No, he already has one in Zooey, his fiancee, played by Rashida Jones from "The Office". The only thing missing in the wedding plans is Peter's best man, because frankly, he doesn't have any close guy friends, so he goes on a set of failed "man-dates". He eventually meets Sydney Fife, a carefree lovable slacker, played by Jason Segel from "How I Met Your Mother", and they quickly hit it off. Soon their spending much time together, jamming to Rush and talking about relationships and manliness. Their comedic chemistry, proven to be effective in last year's Forgetting Sarah Marshall, is taken to an all-time high. They are hilarious together, with the mix of Peter's awkward openness and Sydney's wild men philosophies blending together to make a truly funny film. I give this film a 8.5 out of 10, an A-. Make sure you see it with some buds.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Wow. First off, I HAVE To say that it was too long. That said, I really liked it. Is it my favorite of 2008? No, but it's definitely in my top ten. Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett gave fantastic performances, and I personally think Brad should have won the Oscar.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Really funny, though I usually enjoy Kristen Bell and Jason Segal, regardless. I didn't get to watch the last five minutes, although I doubt that would change my overall opinion.

I just came back from seeing Last Chance Harvey. I had wanted to see it since I first heard about it. It was really good. I was going to just wait until it was on DVD, but I went to the library today, and I saw that it was at the $2 theater (which has become the $2.50 theater), so I went. It wasn't too predictable or anything- it was a nice movie!

I Love You, Man.

Hilarious. The must-see comedic event of the spring.

Race to Witch Mountain - Having never seen the originals, I really enjoyed the remake. Anna SophiaRobb and The Rock were very good, and I thought it was funny, touching, and suspenseful all at the same time. I can't wait to watch the first two now!

Confessions of a Shopaholic - I LOVED it! Omg. It was fantastic and hilarious. I couldn't get over how much alike Isla Fischer and Amy Adams look.

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm so glad that you said that- I thought that I was the only one who thought that!!!

I've recently fallen in love with both A Room With a View (1986) and Howards End (1992). I downloaded the first one two days ago and the following day bought it on Blu-ray ($9 cheaper than the DVD) and did a blind buy on the second and I'm so glad I did. Both are pretty much perfect, although of the 3 E. M. Forster adaptations by Merchant/Ivory I still like Maurice best (I'm biased towards the gay love story, shoot me ).

I too, saw Confessions of a Shopaholic yesterday and loved it as well. I had actually wanted to see Sumdog Millionaire, but the only seats left were in the front row, so my friend and me, we decided to go see Shopaholic and it was a lot better than I had expected. It was funny and sweet (Hugh Dancy looked amazing) and Isla Fisher made for a charming lead (I also think she totally looks like Amy Adams). I guess I might buy it on DVD, since it is one of those rom-coms that are totally predictable, but still you can always have fun watching them.

I think my favorite part was the "You speak Prada?" scene and I totally want a green scarf now.

I saw Hotel for Dogs a few weeks ago with a friend, and really enjoyed it! Better than your average canine-genre flick!

I watched Bolt on Sunday. I thought it was pretty good.

I watched Rascal a couple nights ago for the first time. I absolutely LOVED it. I laughed, I teared up- my kind of movie! And my dogs were talking to the dogs in the movie...that's always fun.

With seven of the 10 grandkids visiting, we watched the Blu-Ray of Walt Disney's Bolt. Everyone had a good time, and all the extras on the Blu-Ray were really good. We all laughed ourselves silly watch the new short "Super Rhino", it was really funny.

I just sorta had a random Disney 90s movie favorites urge 2 days ago. Started with Newsies then progressed with Dick Tracy and The Rocketeer. I don't know when I'll stop...
