Look this spanish DVD/BR web about the next planning Disney release 2009-2013:
http://www.zonadvd.com/modules.php?name ... tos-avance
The surprise is DUMBO and HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, sounding strong Platinum Editions in 2012, along with CINDERELLA. According to a note from Disney Norway, both would have a 2-Disc Edition Blu-Ray, but it's not known whether in the Platinum collection, or a separate 2-disc edition, style LILO AND STITCH, MULAN or TARZAN in 2005 in Spain.
Next Platinum Editions:
October 2009: SNOW WHITE
March 2010: FANTASIA, FANTASIA 2000 and DESTINO
October 2010: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
March 2011: ALICE IN WONDERLAND
October 2011: LION KING
2012: DUMBO, HUNCHBACK and CINDERELLA
2013: BAMBI and LADY AND THE TRAMP
More:
DVD Mary Poppins (45th Anniversary) in March/April 2009 in UK
Blu-Ray Monsters INC. in June/August 2009 in Europe
Blu-Ray Finding Nemo in the end 2009 worldwide.
DVD and Blu-Ray UP in December 2009. Cinema Release: 14 August 2009.
Blu-Ray bUG'S LIfe in the end 2009 foreign (Europe) or first months 2010.
Trilogy Toy Story in 2010.

God no !!!
This can't be true, they listed Mary Poppins for a bluray release for this year, and everybody knows that that's not going to happen,
it's not that I don't want them in bluray, I just don't want them to be PE's, coz that will let all the other movies fall behind, let's just hope they meant that they'd release on BD but aren't platinum editions. Sorry, but I'm a little skeptical about this.

They also listed a BUgs' Life for the end of this year, but we all know that both that and Monsters' come out in May. And Hunchback clearly is not platinum, as they'd have three listings for 2013.

No Jack, if you read the post, it only lists DVD for Mary Poppins, and indeed Mary Poppins had come out, only on DVD.
As for the Pixar films on Blu-ray,
Europe does not equal USA. Currently Amazon.Co.Uk lists Monsters Inc for an August UK release (a whole quarter year later then the US release, and A Bug's Life isn't even listed). Mainland Europe could (and has had in the past) different release dates then the UK. However as an overview of what's coming, its seems pretty accurate. The post even mentions Europe or Worldwide release dates in it, so there should be no confusion. Disney can and does to this, because they REGION LOCK their Blu-ray discs for any major release.

It says it under "Año 2009",
"Mary Poppins - Edición 45 Aniversario DVD Disney Studios
Mary Poppins - Edición 45 Aniversario Blu-ray Disney Studios"
They even have a link for it !

El Pollo Loco, LOL!
I hope they do bring Dumbo and Hunchback to blu soon though! Maybe Little Al will also find his way onto blu, if not in PE form, maybe a special edition release.

I think this information might be true. Zona DVD has never gone wrong with the titles announced (only maybe on the release dates). I know this because I frequently consult them cause Portugal and Spain get the same releases.
And when all the "Alice Platinum" buzz started because of a brazilian site, it turned out true. So I guess DVD sites may get information earlier from the studios.
But yes, it's odd they have already the titles for 2013 and not any announcement for Oliver and Company.

Because the latter hasn't been decided yet. Once they start planning these releases, that's when the info gets out.

So that means Dumbo and Hunchback are really coming in that dates? And in Platinum?

Weel, not sure about the dates, but I'm sure we'll see them. Likely, though, only one of them will be in platinum. The other will probably be just a Special Edition.

Unless Dumbo has gone platinum I would be willing to bet it would be.
Dumbo has never, in over 20 years, been out of print for more than a year. Of course Alice in Wonderland was that way too, until it (supposedly) went Platinum. Dumbo could be our missing 2012 PE.

I feel like if there were going to be titles added to the Platinum Edition line, we might have heard about it by now. When "Peter Pan", "Fantasia", "Sleeping Beauty", and "Pinocchio" were added to the Platinum Edition line, it was announced in spring of 2003, four years before the release of "Peter Pan: Platinum Edition" which actually debuted earlier than expected. I think it Disney decided to expand the Platinum Edition line, we would have heard about it by now. However, Alice in Wonderland has been in talk of being added to the Platinum line for a while now, and it's looking more and more possible everyday. Especially with the live action film coming out in 2010, I could totally see a Spring 2011 release to coincide with this film.
I've always wondered why "Dumbo" didn't make the Platinum Edition line. I know it's not the most popular of the Walt-era films, but I think Dumbo is definitely a great classic film, with a highly recognizable and lovable title character. I think this film is certainly deserving of a good 2-Disc DVD/Blu-Ray release. I would love to learn more about the Making Of Dumbo and even see some of that film-praising hooplah from all of the film critics and Disney historians.
Though I love "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", and I am eagerly anticipating a new release - I have my doubts about it being added to the Platinum Edition line. I'm really hoping there is a special edition in the works, preferably even a double disc version. However, I doubt that if Disney really is expanding the Platinum Edition line, that this title would be one of the ones included.

The announcement in 2003 was for the numerical expansion of the Platinum Line. There's no rumors of adding more titles right now, so we must assume that most of the same titles will be coming out within 8 years of their previous release. As for the rest, I'm in agreement.

Oh I don't believe for a second Hunchback would ever be a PE, but Dumbo I can see because of the legacy it has.
We only have one PE scheduled for 2012 so Dumbo being added wouldn't surprise me, ala Alice (which I still doubt, a spring 2010 release to promote Burton's Alice makes far more sense).

True about Alice, but we already know what Platinum's to expect through the end of 2010. However, depending on when in 2010 Burton's version of "Alice" gets released, a Platinum Edition release of the animated version in spring of 2011 could coincide with the DVD/Blu-Ray release of Burton's version.
Also, I would love to see Dumbo added to the line. In my opinion that is the only film not in the Platinum line that I think deserves to be there.

Actually, the Platinums up to BatB have already been given release dates.
