The Lion King DVD questions

After reading the thread on the Beauty and the Beast DVD colors, there is no doubt in my mind that the movie on the DVD was changed.

However, my friend also says the same thing is true of The Lion King. He says for that movie has been changed as well, colors are brightened for are different, characters have been drawn differently, things have been edited for the DVD.

Is this true? The DVD looks pretty much the same as I remember from the VHS. Though my VHS doesn't work anymore so I can't make comparisons.

A decent explanation is that the movie had a sequence added just as beauty and the beast did.

That also meant the taking out of one minor scene, and some scenes were reanimated(aka, the crocodiles in "I just cant wait to be king, or the opening shot of "can you feel the love tonight)

That's the most change in the film. The colors being brighter is due to the fact that it is a direct port of the CAPS files, aka, the movie as it was almost meant to be seen (can't it really was meant that way until we talk Blu-ray).

The "Leaves spelling SEX" conspiracy can be laid to rest, as the shot fades out when They spell SFS(Special Effects), what they were intended to say in the first place(a lot of these "SEX" things people see in Disney movies are just stupid theories that have been PROVEN to be something else time and time again). That's all the changes, basically.

Well, I don't think it's a direct port of CAPS, BatB isn't either.

If it mentions anything about being restored it's not a direct port.

And gee, Thailog, thanks for doubting me and making your own thread here about it

*Watches as an 11-page argument starts up just like with Beauty and the Beast*

I should actually take some comparison screenshots between the laserdisc and DVD though, just for kicks.

Yeah, the waterfall was altered.
I also compared some of the scenes of the dvd with the vhs I had a few years ago. Color wise they pretty much looked the same.

And I actually think it was a port from the CAPS files. Well, the IMAX version of it, obviously. But it's a digital transfer, nonetheless.
