Thanks! :D

The number of nominees in a given category was determined by the number of nominations submitted for that category, with 5 being the preferable number of finalists in any given category (in the event that either 4 or 6 had to be chosen, 4 were chosen in all categories). In the event that either 2 or 10 nominees had to be chosen, 10 were selected.

I have a question about Meryl's two noms. I have heard (though i'm not sure if it's true) that in the oscars, if an actor is nominated twice in the same category, all the votes towards the actor, regardless of film, are counted together. Is that the case here? Or are we voting in terms of the film?

In the acting categories, each performance is counted separately. So a submission for Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia! and a submission for Meryl Streep in Doubt are counted separately in the same way that a submission for Kate Winslet in The Reader and a submission for Queen Latifah in The Secret Life of Bees would be.
