I know that there's a general hate of HSM on this forum, but the films are a very guilty pleasure of mine--though I'd never pay to see them. So, please try not to turn this into a, "Hey! I think HSM sucks!" kind of thread, because that's really not what this is about. And I tried to just include the main cast in the poll, although there are other characters in the film I like.

I think the real reason I watched past the first movie is because of Sharpay and Ryan Evans (who also get the best songs in "Fabulous," "I Want It All" and "I Don't Dance"). It's hard to say who I like best of the two, but I guess it'd be Ryan. I think Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel bring those characters to life and keep the movies from becoming boring. The only other of the main cast that I like is Chad, mostly because of Corbin Bleu playing him.

Any other HSM fans to share their thoughts?

Well, while the only HSM I've seen is the first one, none of these characters are my favorite.

I like the chubby girl in the cafeteria scene that likes to pop and lock.

I absolutely LOVE HSM!!! As much as I adore Corbin, Sharpay has always been my favorite character. She's just so over the top. She's mean, but not in a horribly mean way (she's no Cruella, people!). I have a lot more in common with Gabriella and Kelsi...I don't have much in common with Sharpay (although I do like pink), and maybe that's part of the reason why I like her so much. I can live vicariously through her, I guess?

Martha, right? I'm sorry, I just put these six because those are the ones posted all over the place and the ones people were most likely to remember. I also liked Ms. Darbus and Kelsi, so it's not just because my favorites were of these.

Ryan is the lesser of...I'm not sure how many evils. Is there a student body count at east high?

Ryan is not annoying, a jerk, a shameless self promoter or a self centered broad (both Gabriella and Sharpay fall in this category). He is to my knowledge the only near gay stereotype in a Disney film and I guess he's unique for that reason (but that's nothing really to be proud about). I wonder what his stage version is like? Any clips?

Ryan and Sharpay all the way. I voted for Ryab because i relate to him the most, though.

Ryan all the way, followed closely by Sharpay and then Chad. *Shoves Efron and Hudgens into a closet* I don't know who those other two people are that everyone keeps talking about. Zac who? As for Monique I suppose she'd be right behind Corbin on the favorites list.

Poor Chad & Taylor...they have no votes yet. I like Chad and Taylor- I like all the characters. I guess they're harder for me to relate to than some of the other characters? I'm not a jock and I'm not a brainiac...I wonder how some of the other characters would do in the poll, like Kelsi or Ms. Darbus...

If the poll were "Who is your favorite HSM actor?", then obviously Corbin would get my vote!

That's so honest of you May be someone should open that poll later; It would still be between Ashley and Lucas for me, though.

I voted for Ryan out of these options. He's the one with, in my opinion, the largest turmoil as Sharpay is his own twin sister and he pulls it off without being a mopey little brat ala Anastasia Tremaine.

I realize that I am of Taylor's archetype. That doesn't mean I liked her character. I found her boring and lacking any interesting inner conflict or backstory potential whatsoever. Gabriella's backstory was what Taylor's probably should have been. That aside, Gabriella struck me as plum annoying.

But Kelsi is my favorite, the only reason I watched all three movies. I wanted to see how her character would continue to develop.
