SCREAMING IS FUN!!!!
Anyway, I have a feeling that it'll be quietly vaulted, then get re-released with the new "Walt Disney Family Classics" banner, offering the same stuff on the current disc, now with an all-new trivia track (and, god forbid, a new interactive game!), but without the excellent trailers.
If I had it my way, it'd be a three-disc set. Disc One would have the 1971 Premiere Version (if we were very very lucky and they found the missing audio tracks so the 1996 dubs won't have to be used, as well as the film for "A Step in the Right Direction") and the 1971 General Release Version (both via seamless branching) in 1.75:1 widescreen with commentaries, isolated scores, and trivia track, Disc Two would have the 1996 Restored Version in 1.37:1 open-matte as it was in the laserdisc with the "Music Magic" featurette and various behind-the-scenes footage and recording sessions, and Disc Three would be devoted to special features like a 90-minute documentary, individual featurettes about stuff like the original Mary Norton books, the visual effects, and animated sequences, a "Conversations With..." featurette for Angela Lansbury, galleries of artwork and photos, and the trailers.

I'd hit that.
I'm on the fence on what to do with the 30 Anniversary release right now. I want
Bedknobs and Broomsticks in my collection, but I'm not sure that we're going to get the SE we want from it. Should I just splurge while it's $13 at Wal-Mart now or wait and hope for a good rerelease?
*now hopes that
Absent Minded Professor gets the SE/VD release it deserves*

I got it for $13 at Wal-Mart and haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I hope to God this is re-released with the full Disney Channel special instead of the edited one on the current DVD, additional features, and all of the old ones intact, and on Blu-ray, too. I think I'll cry if that happens. Seriously.

Hope we see good news on this along the lines of the Pete's Dragon good news. And I really, really hope we see this come to Blu-ray!

Splurge and spend the 13 bucks; why bank on a hope and prayer a) for a rerelease and b) for a good rerelease when you can have a decent restored version of the film at a great price? Just my two cents.

I wish it would be Blu-ray...and I LOVE the idea of the 3 discs...but I doubt they will do that...

Guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed.
