This is one of the shows I rember watching as a kid with my dad that I would love to see again someday.

I really doubt Disney will ever release it though does anyone know of anywhere to watch it online tried looking for it under Youtube with no luck.

Or if anyone knows a way to get this on DVD or evan VHS that would be awesome.

Anyone else rember this show?

They should release it with the Bruce Campbell apparently non-canon TV sequel. Those are the only ones I don't have on DVD yet, though I have the VHS of the Campbell one. With its historic reunion of Jim Douglas (Dean Jones) and Herbie, it really should be released to DVD. As for the series, how many episodes did that have? I only remember seeing 2 or 3 on the Disney Channel runs...

There were 5 episodes. In the last episode, Jim Douglas gets married...lol. I can't remember if they plan on closing the driving school or if it ends with them sort of keeping it open. I'll have to go back and watch it again.

I would totally support a DVD release of ALL things Herbie :)

A good idea would be to revisit this idea and add it to the current Disney Channel line up. If only they would revisit older more classic ideas than create silly brittle ones...

Thanks for the info, disneyfella. Maybe Disney should create some lesser version of the Treasures collection to release stuff like this on single or two-disc sets. This could be on one disc, but a second disc could have the Bruce Campbell sequel. Disney's Television Legacy Collection maybe, ha.

Why is it non-canon?

Well, in "Herbie: Fully Loaded" I get the impression that it is being treated as such.

Oh, you mean because it wasn't featured in the opening credits montage? I don't think it's a big deal, as long as the movie itself doesn't contradict the events of the 1997 "Love Bug" (which it doesn't).

But they should definitely release this TV show and the TV movie on DVD.

Unfortunately, I haven't watched either recently, though I have them both, but I vaguely remember that it did in some way or ways, though it may have just been the montage.
