Welcome to the Fourth Annual UD Media Awards - 2009! As the Movie Award voting does with films, the Media Awards voting allows us to honor our favorites in other mediated forms of entertainment... television, music, and literature, in particular. Once all the nominations and votes are out of the way, the Movie and Media Awards are presented together in one grand ceremony.

This is the first stage, in which you all get to submit nominations in the following categories (and those categories only). You may submit up to 5 nominations in each category (you may nominate less than 5, but no more than that). Please only nominate things with which you are familiar (i.e. have seen, heard, and/or read). The same submission may be made for multiple categories. I will make the final call on the eligibility of questionable submissions. These are the '09 awards because that's when they'll take place, but everything must have come from 2008!

You have until 11:59pm (Eastern time) Sunday, January 25 to submit your nominees. You may edit your votes up until that time but not after. Any posts edited after the deadline will be disqualified. Any nominations for ineligible titles will be disregarded. The nominees will be announced shortly thereafter.

I'm working on my list right now, but I have a question- for Best Actor & Best Actress in a TV series, must the actors & actresses be regulars on the show, or can we nominate people who have guest-starred?

Also, does Best Song mean Best Single, or just Best Song that was on an album in 2008?

I leave it up to you to determine who you think warrants a "Best Actor" nomination vs. a "Best Supporting Actor" nomination and so on. Naturally, there's less of a chance that a non-series regular will get enough nominations to make a final cut for a "Best" category. You're free to try, though.

However, you cannot nominate one actor for the same role in both a primary and supporting acting category.

Released to radio as a single or achieved prominence on radio/music television.

EDIT: I'd accept a song released as a single to iTunes or some other similar, prominent format even if it wasn't released to radio. The important thing is that it needs to have been released/marketed as a single and/or achieved prominence in a recognized medium. This is generally the guideline used by the Grammys and should work well for our purposes here. I'll review each nominee submission to make sure it's eligible.
