I was going through the reviews of the Complete Pluto Volume 1 and I don't remember seeing the short "Pluto's Judgement Day" being listed at all. I know it's not on Volume 2 aside from the Pencil Test Bonus Material so is the short not listed in the Volume 1 review because it wasn't released at all or is this just an error?

Pluto's Judgement day was actually a 1935 Mickey Mouse short. It is found on the Mickey Mouse Treasures, Wave One.

Thanks StitchExp626, I find it odd that it's considered a Mickey short when he's in it for such a short amount of time :?

During most of the 1930s, there were only two Disney animated series: Mickey Mouse (with the regular gang of characters) and Silly Symphonies (for one-offs). As the gang developed, there were occasional films that placed more emphasis on the other characters, and the odd one or two that omitted Mickey altogether, but contractually they were still treated as Mickey Mouse films. There is the odd exception, though (e.g. Mother Pluto was badged as a Silly Symphony).

IIRC Disney was required under the terms of his contract with United Artists to supply a certain number of Mickeys and a certain number of Symphonies each year. It was only when Disney switched to releasing through RKO in 1937 that the films began to diversify out into various character strands (Donald, Goofy, etc), no doubt reflecting the increased popularity of Donald Duck and the decreased importance of Mickey Mouse.
