HSM 3 Senior Year Dance for Wii: good but not great.

So I've been on a High School Musical kick lately (I swear I'm going through, like, a "quarter-life crisis" or something xD) and I saw the commercial for the Senior Year Dance game for Wii. I thought it looked cool and I thought "What the hell, I'll buy it and give it a shot".

Well, I think I should've rented it first. It's fun and all, but it is so not worth the 50 bucks I spent on it. Probably the biggest flaw is the lack of original actors reprising their roles, and that means all the songs were re-recorded with different people.

So if anyone was thinking of getting this game, either rent it to get a taste of what it's like... or wait until it drops to like 20 or 25 dollars, because it's definitely not worth 50

It's not even the original versions of the songs??!?!?! That's a big disappointment. I don't have a Wii, but a friend of mine does, and this is something that she'd be interested in, so I need to let her know about that.

Thanks for letting us know, rexcrk!

No problem! :)

It IS fun though, so definitely give it a rent just to try it out.

Same goes for the HSM and HM DDR games. It's just cheaper since they don't have to pay royalties to the original singers (although I'm sure they still get paid for use of their likeliness, etc).

When you think about it, all licensed games are just imitations of superior games.

I'm just surprised they couldn't afford to pay lol... I mean, the HSM musical movies probably made like a billion dollars and counting :P

But yeah after playing through a lot more of the songs... I really do like this game but I'd like it a whole lot more if they used the original recordings of the songs... but I'm used to it anyway after playing the Donkey Konga games xD

So in other words they replaced crappy songs by crappy singers with even worse singers.

Hey, in comparison, even I might sound good!

Just get DDR Hottest Party if you want a dance game or something... I've had that and been happy with it for a few months now.

It's not that they can't afford it, it's that they don't want to pay.

The whole point of the release is to make a profit, not to make their fans happy

(In a totally unrelated note, Jimmy, I just was on MySpace, and it says that you are now friends with Zac Efron, and that he is a "band". I did not know that. :D )

I was never a High School Musical fan myself to be honest. :P No offence to any High School Musical fans here. It's just... not like Disney for me.

the High School Musical people aren't bad singers. They may get annoying every once in a while, but they aren't bad.

So after playing for a while I've come to the conlusion that I really do like this game, it's like the "Guitar Hero for me" (I do have Guitar Hero btw, but I don't really like it all that much, I'm not that familiar with the songs >_>). The graphics are pretty good, but sometimes the people look "soul-less" when they're dancing (if that makes sense lol).

I still stand by what I said about waiting for a significant price drop though

Yes, we are homies. He's in my room right now.... ;) ;) I was looking for songs from HSM3 and found that page. It says it's the "official" Zacypoo myspace but I find that extremely unlikely!
